Job summary

Persistent Systems Limited is seeking an experienced ETL Developer - SQL Server & SSIS to design, develop, and maintain scalable data integration solutions across enterprise reporting and BI initiatives.

The role requires hands-on ETL development, SQL optimization, data modeling, and experience with Azure Data Factory and Data Warehousing concepts. Hybrid work in Pune, India.

We are looking for an experienced ETL Developer - SQL Server & SSIS with strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, ETL development, Azure Data Factory, and Data Warehousing concepts. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data integration solutions that support enterprise reporting, analytics, and business intelligence initiatives. The role requires hands‑on experience in ETL development, SQL optimization, data modeling, and data pipeline implementation. The candidate will collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and development teams to deliver high-quality, reliable, and efficient data solutions.

What You'll Do:

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL workflows using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
• Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, views, functions, and database objects.
• Build and maintain data integration pipelines using SSIS and Azure Data Factory (ADF).
• Implement data extraction, transformation, and loading processes from multiple source systems into enterprise data warehouses.
• Design and support data warehousing solutions using Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, Fact Tables, and Dimension Tables.
• Ensure high standards of data quality, consistency, accuracy, and integrity across data platforms.
• Troubleshoot and optimize ETL processes, database performance, and data pipelines.
• Monitor data loads and resolve production issues within defined SLAs.
• Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand reporting and data integration requirements.
• Support deployment, release management, maintenance, and ongoing enhancements.
• Create technical documentation, ETL design documents, and process flow diagrams.
• Follow coding standards, version control practices, and data governance requirements.
• Work with GitHub and Bitbucket repositories for source code management and collaboration.
• Support reporting and analytics initiatives leveraging Power BI, SSRS, and Azure Data Services.
• Utilize M365 Copilot to improve productivity, documentation, data analysis, and development efficiency.

Expertise You'll Bring:

• 5–9 years of experience in SQL Server and ETL development.
• Minimum 1 year of hands‑on experience working with M365 Copilot.
• Strong expertise in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
• Experience designing and implementing ETL workflows and data integration solutions.
• Strong SQL programming skills including query writing, performance tuning, indexing, and optimization.
• Hands‑on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) and cloud‑based data integration solutions.
• Solid understanding of Data Warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling techniques.
• Experience working with Fact Tables, Dimension Tables, Star Schema, and Snowflake Schema.
• Knowledge of database design principles and data management best practices.
• Experience supporting production environments and troubleshooting complex ETL issues.
• Familiarity with Power BI, SSRS, and enterprise reporting solutions.
• Experience with Azure Data Services and cloud‑based data platforms.
• Proficiency in version control tools such as GitHub and Bitbucket.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working in Agile development environments and cross‑functional teams.
• Ability to independently manage deliverables and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
