Job summary

Persistent is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design, develop, and support scalable ETL pipelines across cloud and on‑premises environments, with mandatory BFSI/insurance domain experience to back regulatory reporting and modernization initiatives.

You will build Data Lakes and Data Warehouses, ensure data quality and governance, and collaborate with stakeholders to enable enterprise reporting, analytics, and secure data platforms across technologies.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of experience in Data Engineering and ETL projects.
• Hands-on expertise with ETL tools such as Informatica, ADF, Databricks, SSIS.
• Strong SQL, data modeling, and data architecture understanding.
• Experience with cloud platforms and enterprise data platforms in BFSI.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT workflows and data pipelines.

About Position:

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer with strong expertise in ETL development and enterprise data engineering. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting scalable data integration and transformation solutions that power critical business operations. This role requires mandatory BFSI/Insurance domain experience to support regulatory reporting, data modernization programs, and enterprise-scale analytics initiatives. The candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, architects, and cross-functional teams to build robust, secure, and high-performing data platforms across cloud and on-premises environments.

What You'll Do:

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT workflows, data pipelines, and integration solutions for enterprise applications.
• Build, enhance, and support Data Lake and Data Warehouse platforms to enable reporting, analytics, and business intelligence initiatives.
• Perform source-to-target mapping, data transformation, cleansing, and validation to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
• Develop scalable cloud-based data engineering solutions using modern data integration technologies.
• Optimize ETL jobs, data processing workflows, and database performance to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to data integration, transformation, and pipeline execution.
• Support enterprise data migration, modernization, and cloud adoption initiatives.
• Collaborate with business users, data analysts, architects, and development teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
• Implement and maintain data quality, governance, security, and compliance standards across data platforms.
• Participate in testing, deployment, release management, and production support activities.
• Enable enterprise-scale reporting, dashboarding, and advanced analytics capabilities through reliable data engineering solutions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and adoption of best practices in data engineering and ETL development.

Expertise You'll Bring:

• 7 to 10 years of experience in Data Engineering, ETL Development, and Data Integration projects.
• Strong hands-on experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Databricks, SSIS, or similar technologies.
• Excellent SQL programming skills with strong experience in database design, development, and query optimization.
• Experience working with databases such as Snowflake, SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, BigQuery, or equivalent platforms.
• Strong understanding of Data Lake, Data Warehouse, Data Modeling, and data architecture concepts.
• Experience with cloud platforms including Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Solid understanding of OLTP systems, dimensional modeling, and enterprise data management principles.
• Experience with source control, CI/CD pipelines, Git, and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of data governance, security frameworks, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work in cross-functional teams.
• Mandatory experience in the BFSI or Insurance domain, with exposure to regulatory reporting and enterprise data platforms.
