Join a technology-driven environment where you will contribute to accurate, competitive, and high-quality cost estimates for building automation and control systems. In this role, you will support the preparation of technical estimates, commercial proposals, and project documentation aligned with customer requirements and regional standards. You will work with HVAC equipment, Building Management Systems (BMS), control devices, and related engineering solutions to develop effective and cost-efficient proposals. Collaborating with vendors, internal teams, and stakeholders across different regions, you will help ensure technical accuracy, commercial viability, and timely delivery. Your expertise will contribute to risk assessment, value engineering, and continuous improvements in estimation processes. This opportunity is ideal for an engineering professional who combines technical knowledge with analytical thinking, strong communication, and a results-oriented mindset. The position offers a remote work arrangement in India, with flexibility required to meet deadlines and coordinate across multiple time zones.

Accountabilities
  • Technical Estimation and Design: Study project inputs and technical specifications, perform HVAC equipment take-offs, prepare input/output (I/O) summaries, size DDC controllers, select field devices and valves, and develop bills of quantities (BOQs), cost estimates, and cable schedules.
  • Proposal Development: Review customer specifications and prepare technical and commercial proposals, clearly identifying inclusions, exclusions, assumptions, technical qualifications, and deviations to mitigate project and commercial risks.
  • Technical Submittals and Documentation: Prepare system architecture diagrams, floor risers, control schematics, and specification compliance documents in accordance with regional requirements and project standards.
  • Cost Optimization and Value Engineering: Identify opportunities to optimize costs, improve solution efficiency, and develop competitive proposals while maintaining technical quality and compliance with customer requirements.
  • Product and Solution Knowledge: Apply knowledge of building automation products and solutions to develop appropriate technical recommendations, maintain awareness of product ranges, and incorporate regional technical preferences into estimation activities.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform quality checks on estimates, proposals, and technical deliverables to ensure accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with applicable standards.
  • Vendor and Commercial Coordination: Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders on pricing, product availability, commercial requirements, and applicable taxation considerations.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build effective working relationships with internal customers, sales teams, vendors, and stakeholders across different geographic regions and time zones.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to the development and standardization of estimation processes, helping reduce turnaround times, improve accuracy, and increase operational efficiency.
  • Risk Assessment and Delivery Management: Identify potential technical, commercial, and delivery risks, prioritize assignments according to deadlines, and balance speed with accuracy to meet project requirements.
  • Communication and Reporting: Prepare clear technical content, estimation summaries, and supporting documentation while communicating assumptions, findings, and recommendations effectively to relevant stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Educational Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline, preferably Instrumentation and Control, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional Experience: Approximately 3-5 years of relevant experience in technical estimation, engineering design, proposal preparation, or a related function.
  • Building Management Systems: Exposure to BMS technologies, building automation solutions, and associated control systems.
  • Technical Estimation Skills: Practical knowledge of equipment take-offs, I/O summaries, DDC controller sizing, field device and valve selection, BOQ preparation, costing, and cable scheduling.
  • Proposal and Pre-Sales Expertise: Understanding of pre-sales processes, technical specifications, proposal development, and the preparation of inclusions, exclusions, assumptions, and deviations.
  • Technical Documentation: Ability to prepare and interpret system architecture diagrams, floor risers, control schematics, and technical compliance documentation.
  • Commercial Awareness: Familiarity with vendor coordination, pricing, taxation considerations, cost analysis, and value engineering principles.
  • Software Proficiency: Competency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word, with the ability to manage estimation data and prepare professional documentation.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to assess risks, identify discrepancies, and understand the consequences of technical and commercial decisions.
  • Communication Skills: Good written and verbal English communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear technical content and present information effectively.
  • Organization and Prioritization: Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize competing deadlines, maintain accuracy under pressure, and deliver work within established timelines.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to coordinate with internal teams, customers, vendors, and geographically distributed stakeholders across multiple time zones.
  • Personal Attributes: Self-motivated, proactive, adaptable, and committed to achieving results while maintaining quality standards.
