Role Description

The Estimation Engineer role at SAEC is a full-time, hybrid position based in Vadodara, with some flexibility for work from home. The Estimation Engineer will prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs), develop cost estimates for civil and infrastructure projects, and support tender preparation and bid submissions. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing drawings and specifications, analyzing project requirements, researching material and labor rates, and coordinating with design and project teams to validate quantities and costs. The role also involves supporting negotiations with vendors and contractors, updating estimation databases, and ensuring estimates align with project budgets and timelines. The Estimation Engineer will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to provide accurate, timely, and well-documented cost information.

Qualifications

• Strong project estimation capabilities, with demonstrated skills in BOQ preparation and Project Estimation.
• Technical foundation in Civil Engineering, with the ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and standards.
• Effective Negotiation skills for engaging with vendors, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
• Solid Research skills for gathering current market rates, material costs, and benchmarking data.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Proficiency in estimation software, Excel spreadsheets, and standard office productivity tools.
• Attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience in public building or infrastructure projects, especially government projects, is an advantage.
