in Mumbai is seeking an Estimation Engineer to prepare accurate product costings and quotations, coordinating with customers, the sales team and the factory to ensure clarity, competitiveness and technical accuracy in every offer. You will study enquiries, drawings and specifications, maintain costing sheets, factor materials, processing, labour, overheads and freight, update prices as costs change, and hand over confirmed orders with complete technical and commercial details

Qualifications

• Diploma in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 25 years of experience in an engineering field are required.
• Hands-on experience in product costing and preparing quotations.
• Comfortable handling customer correspondence by email and phone.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Working knowledge of MS Excel (formulas, costing sheets) and email.

Responsibilities

• Study customer enquiries, drawings and specifications to understand the exact requirement.
• Prepare detailed product costings covering material, processing, labour, overheads, packing and freight.
• Maintain and update costing sheets as raw material prices and process costs change.
• Coordinate with the factory and purchase team for current rates, feasibility and lead times.
• Prepare clear, accurate techno-commercial quotations within agreed turnaround times.
• Apply pricing guidelines and get management approval where required.
• Keep a register of all quotations sent and track their status (open, revised, won, lost).
• Revise quotations based on customer feedback or changes in scope.
• Handle email and phone communication with customers on enquiries, clarifications and quotation follow-ups.
• Resolve technical and commercial queries promptly and professionally.
• Follow up on pending quotations and share updates with the sales team.
• Hand over confirmed orders to the factory with complete technical and commercial details.

About the role

The Estimation Engineer prepares accurate product costings and quotations for customer enquiries, working from our Mumbai office. The role connects customers, the sales team and the factory, so clear communication matters as much as technical accuracy. Every quotation you send shapes both the order we win and the margin we earn on it.

Key responsibilities

Product costing

• Study customer enquiries, drawings and specifications to understand the exact requirement.
• Prepare detailed product costings covering material, processing, labour, overheads, packing and freight.
