Role Overview
We are looking for a seasoned Essbase Consultant to drive the migration of on-premise Oracle Essbase / Hyperion applications to Oracle EPM Cloud / OCI. The ideal candidate will have strong hands‑on experience in Essbase technologies and cloud transformation, with proven delivery of multiple migration projects. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong migration experience, and the ability to work closely with business and IT stakeholders to deliver a seamless cloud transition.
Key Responsibilities
- Migration & Transformation
- Lead and execute end-to-end migration of Essbase/Hyperion applications from on-premise to Oracle EPM Cloud / OCI.
- Perform application assessment, environment discovery, and dependency analysis.
- Define migration strategies such as Lift & Shift, Re‑architecture, or Hybrid approaches.
- Convert and optimize Essbase cubes (BSO/ASO) for cloud deployment.
- Architecture & Solution Design
- Design scalable and high-performance cloud EPM architectures.
- Identify and implement cloud-native enhancements and best practices.
- Redesign calculation logic, data flows, and integrations as needed.
- Development & Configuration
- Develop and maintain: Essbase cubes (BSO/ASO), Calc scripts and business rules, MaxL scripts and automation.
- Configure: Planning applications, Metadata, hierarchies, and dimensions, Security and access models.
- Data Integration & Validation
- Define and execute data migration, reconciliation, and validation plans.
- Implement integrations using FDMEE / Data Integration / ODI.
- Ensure data accuracy and completeness post‑migration.
- Testing & Deployment
- Lead SIT, UAT, and performance testing cycles.
- Troubleshoot and resolve migration and performance issues.
- Support cutover planning and go‑live activities.
- Performance Optimization
- Optimize cube performance, aggregation design, and calculation efficiency.
- Address performance bottlenecks in cloud environments.
- Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work with Finance, IT, and business users to gather and validate requirements.
- Provide solution recommendations and technical guidance.
- Communicate risks, timelines, and progress effectively.
- Documentation & Post‑Go‑Live Support
- Prepare detailed technical and migration documentation.
- Provide post‑migration hypercare and production support.
- Conduct knowledge transfer sessions.
Qualifications
Mandatory Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in Essbase / Hyperion / Oracle EPM.
- Minimum 2 end‑to‑end Essbase / Hyperion to EPM Cloud migration implementations (mandatory).
- Strong hands‑on experience with Essbase (BSO & ASO), Hyperion Planning / EPM Suite, Oracle EPM Cloud (EPBCS / PBCS / FCCS).
- Proven expertise in migration strategies, tools, and LCM; data migration and reconciliation.
- Strong experience in calc scripts, MaxL, business rules; data integration tools (FDMEE / ODI / Data Integration).
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Groovy scripting and REST APIs in EPM Cloud; OCI architecture and deployment.
- Familiarity with Agile / DevOps methodologies in EPM implementations.
- Oracle certifications in Essbase / Oracle EPM Cloud.
Soft Skills
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical thinking.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
- Ability to lead modules independently and mentor junior team members.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or related field.
