Our client, an industrial manufacturing group, is seeking experienced semiconductor equipment manufacturing professionals to support a specialist engagement.
The project requires consultants who can support one or more areas across precision component manufacturing, semiconductor equipment engineering, technical-commercial estimation, costing, and hands‑on manufacturing process training.
The ideal consultants will have experience working within semiconductor equipment manufacturing, wafer fab equipment, precision engineering, advanced manufacturing, or OEM supplier environments.
Key Activities
- Supports precision manufacturing and machining of components used in semiconductor and wafer fab equipment.
- Develops or reviews NC programming, machining strategies, process plans, tooling requirements, and production methods.
- Interprets engineering drawings, tolerances, GD&T specifications, and global OEM manufacturing requirements.
- Supports component qualification, first‑time‑right production, process validation, and manufacturing readiness.
- Ensures alignment with contamination control, cleanroom‑linked workflows, inspection requirements, and semiconductor‑grade quality standards.
- Supports technical‑commercial estimation, costing, pricing build‑up, and customer requirement interpretation.
- Develops cost assumptions based on materials, machining cycles, process flow, tooling, inspection, supplier capability, and production volumes.
- Supports supplier qualification, technical documentation, commercial proposals, and OEM‑facing coordination.
- Delivers hands‑on training to production and engineering teams across specialist semiconductor manufacturing processes.
- Develops SOPs, work instructions, process documentation, training materials, and capability‑building plans.
- Troubleshoots process issues and supports knowledge transfer across manufacturing, quality, engineering, and operations teams.
- Provides training or technical support across areas such as semiconductor‑grade anodising, precision cleaning, EBW and TIG welding, tube bending, stretch forming, metrology, profilometry, contamination control, cleanroom inspection, and packaging.
Your Background
- Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience in semiconductor equipment manufacturing, precision engineering, advanced manufacturing, or a related industrial environment.
- Hands‑on experience in one or more of the following areas: precision machining, manufacturing engineering, costing and estimation, technical‑commercial support, process engineering, or manufacturing training.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor equipment components, wafer fab equipment, precision‑machined parts, or OEM supplier requirements.
- Experience with CNC machining, NC programming, machining strategy, process planning, tooling, GD&T, metrology, and inspection.
- Knowledge of contamination control, cleanroom‑linked production, component qualification, and first‑time‑right manufacturing.
- Ability to train internal teams, develop SOPs, troubleshoot manufacturing processes, and transfer specialist knowledge.
- Strong stakeholder management skills across engineering, production, quality, procurement, suppliers, and customer teams.
- Ability to work independently as an interim consultant, technical specialist, or manufacturing advisor.
- Experience working with semiconductor equipment OEMs or their supplier ecosystem.
