Chevron ENGINE in Bengaluru, India, is seeking an Environmental Data & Compliance Specialist to join the ENGINE team. You will analyze environmental data, ensure reporting complies with air, water and waste regulations, and collaborate with operations, maintenance, capital projects, technical, and HSE teams to deliver accurate, timely disclosures.

Key Responsibilities
  • For Upstream Oil and Gas Shale & Tight regulations, perform data analysis on environmental regulations for air, water, and waste, and evaluate alternatives to meet compliance requirements, articulate recommendations.
  • Ensure data collection methods and practices comply with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and standards.
  • Prepare reports to demonstrate compliance with environmental permits and regulations.
  • Record and organize collected data systematically, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination between internal teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting and compliance.
  • Partner with internal customers, such as operations, maintenance, capital projects, technical, and HSE teams, to compile data for assurance and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain systems for tracking and reporting on environmental performance and compliance metrics.
  • Identify communicate and implement opportunities to embed and streamline environmental compliance activities within process data systems, for example, automated alarming and notification systems.
  • Perform quality reviews of environmental data and report out on issues and gaps.
  • Manage multiple projects/activities and competing priorities, including the tracking and delivery of key actions assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental reporting, compliance, or permitting in the oil and gas industry.
  • Consistent demonstration of communicating areas of concern or identification of compliance concerns with regional business contacts.
  • Strong understanding and experience working in data analysis tools and software; including Excel, SEEQ, and PowerBi. Able to provide environmental guidance and support to internal customers, such as operations, maintenance, capital projects, technical, and HSE teams.
  • Develop and maintain systems for tracking and reporting on environmental performance and compliance metrics.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex datasets to ensure compliance with environmental dataset/calculations regulations and standards.
  • Able to conduct quality reviews of environmental data and reports including identification and resolution of issues or gaps.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present and simplify findings clearly to stakeholders.
  • Capable of developing an understanding of local and state environmental regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Experience communicating internally regarding compliance actions, permit application preparation, and various regulatory submittals.
  • Strong communication skills and capable of working effectively in teams and across functions to deliver results.
  • Strong attention to detail, project management, and prioritization skills needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficient in the design and support of Low Code solutions and ability to apply technical skills across HSE and IT to minimize technical debt.
  • Experience in water reporting, environmental compliance, or sustainability reporting
  • Strong Power BI skills for dashboarding, analytics, and reporting
  • Excellent communication, training delivery, and stakeholder engagement capabilities
  • GIS/ArcGIS and Biodiversity reporting experience preferred but not mandatory

Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, supporting business requirements across the world. Accordingly, the work hours for employees will be aligned to support business requirements. The standard work week will be Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1.30pm to 10.30pm
