Job Summary

The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer at Jabil, Inc. is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive EHS programs to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and foster a safe and healthy working environment. This role focuses on preventing incidents, promoting best practices, and driving continuous improvement in EHS performance across Jabil's operations.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and manage EHS programs, policies, and procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA) and Jabil's internal standards.
  • Conduct regular EHS audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and non-compliance issues, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Investigate all incidents, accidents, and near misses, determine root causes, and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees, supervisors, and contractors on various topics including hazard communication, emergency preparedness, machine guarding, ergonomics, and waste management.
  • Maintain accurate EHS records, documentation, and reporting as required by regulatory agencies and internal Jabil policies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, and human resources, to integrate EHS considerations into all aspects of the business.
  • Manage and oversee the proper disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Monitor environmental performance metrics, such as air emissions, wastewater discharge, and waste generation, and implement strategies for improvement.
  • Participate in the review of new equipment, processes, and facility modifications to ensure EHS requirements are incorporated from the design phase.
  • Stay current with emerging EHS regulations, industry best practices, and technological advancements to continually enhance Jabil's EHS performance.
Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific or engineering field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in an EHS role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant environmental and safety regulations.
  • Proven experience in conducting EHS audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and influence employees at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to interpret technical documents, regulations, and standards.
  • Certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist), or CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager) are a plus.
  • Experience with EHS management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001) is desirable.
