Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining, Safety, Fire & Safety, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
• NEBOSH, IOSH, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor, ISO 14001 Lead Auditor or equivalent certifications preferred.
• 12–18 years of HSE experience in mining, metals, manufacturing, or other heavy industrial environments.
• Strong expertise in safety, occupational health, fire management, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance.
• Proven capability in HSE leadership, incident management, audits, and driving safety culture transformation.

• Drive risk management through hazard identification, mitigation, emergency preparedness, and response.

As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a seasoned professional for the position of Deputy Head - HSE (Coal Mines) to lead and strengthen our Health, Safety & Environment function, driving a culture of zero harm, regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and sustainable mining practices across our coal mining operations.

• Lead HSE strategy and governance across mining operations, ensuring alignment with company standards, ESG commitments, and Zero Harm objectives.
• Drive critical risk management through effective hazard identification, mitigation, emergency preparedness, and response.
• Strengthen HSE management systems through audits, inspections, certifications, and timely closure of compliance gaps.
• Monitor HSE performance, investigate incidents, and implement corrective actions to drive continuous improvement.
• Enhance safety culture through leadership engagement, contractor management, workforce competency, and safety awareness initiatives.
• Ensure 100% compliance with all applicable mining, safety, health, and environmental regulations.

Desired Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining, Safety, Fire & Safety, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or related discipline with relevant HSE specialization or additional qualifications in Industrial Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, Fire & Safety, HSE Management, or an equivalent discipline from a recognized institution.
• NEBOSH, IOSH, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor, ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, or equivalent certifications preferred.
• 12-18 years of HSE experience in mining, metals, manufacturing, or other heavy industrial environments.
