Job Description: We are looking for a highly skilled and hands-on Entomologist to establish, maintain, and manage laboratory insect colonies for agricultural biological research and product development. The candidate will be responsible for the mass rearing, maintenance, multiplication, synchronization, and quality management of insect colonies, as well as maintaining healthy and genetically consistent insect populations for laboratory and controlled-environment experiments.

Key responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain laboratory colonies of economically important insect pests.
  • Develop and optimize rearing protocols for different insect species and developmental stages.
  • Maintain continuous and synchronized insect generations according to experimental requirements.
  • Monitor insect development, survival, fecundity, fertility, and generation time.
  • Maintain appropriate environmental conditions such as temperature, relative humidity, photoperiod, diet, and host plants.
  • Prepare, standardize, and optimize artificial diets for insect rearing where applicable.
  • Maintain host plants and plant material required for insect multiplication.
  • Develop suitable feeding and oviposition systems for different insect species.
  • Ensure consistent quality and nutritional suitability of insect diets and host plants.
  • Supply healthy and synchronized insects at specific developmental stages for R&D experiments.
  • Support laboratory and greenhouse bioassays involving insect pests.
  • Assist researchers in designing experiments related to insect biology, pest control, RNAi, biological pesticides, microbial pesticides, or other novel crop‑protection technologies.
  • Maintain different life stages such as eggs, larvae/nymphs, pupae, and adults according to experimental requirements.
  • Record and analyze insect mortality, growth inhibition, developmental abnormalities, fecundity, and other biological parameters.
  • Documentation & Reporting.
What we are looking for
  • Hands‑on experience with one or more of the following insect groups is highly desirable: Whitefly, Thrips (Thrips spp.), Pink bollworm (Pectinophora gossypiella), Fall armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda), Aphids (Aphis, Myzus spp.), Jassids/Leafhoppers (Amrasca spp. and related species), Mites (agricultural pest mite species), and other economically important Lepidoptera, Hemiptera, Thysanoptera, or Acari species.
