Job summary

Johnson Electric Group seeks a senior AI/IT lead in Chennai to drive research, analytics tool design, and AI/ML solutions across Operations and Engineering. You will oversee global projects and guide cross-functional teams to deliver impactful results.

The role emphasizes design automation, PLM data leverage, and building high-value data standards. Collaboration with developers and academics will be key in this dynamic environment.

Qualifications

Job description

Your responsibilities will be to:

• Research and identify cutting edge AI and IT technology to solve specific challenges
• Design advanced data analytics tools, AI and ML solutions to support Operations and Engineering
• Lead global projects and cross-functional teams to deliver solutions aligned with business objectives
• Develop design automation tools and AI-driven solutions leveraging PLM data to accelerate engineering workflows
• Build strong expertise in engineering and manufacturing processes to identify, collect, and standardize high-value data across the product lifecycle
• Closely collaborate with team of Data Scientists and Engineers based in Chennai
• Support the digital transformation of the E-Systems team, deploy selected tools and the related IT infrastructure
• Maintain and grow academic partnerships in the field of AI, including research collaborations, student projects and internships

Our requirements:

• Masters degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, PhD would be advantageous
• More than 8 years of experience in similar positions
• Interest for engineering and manufacturing processes
• Solid expertise in LLM, data analytics, database systems and AI application development
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in global and cross-functional teams
• Strong analytical mindset with well-developed logical and problem-solving skills
• Fluency in English
