Job summary

Husky Technologies TM in Guindy, Chennai is seeking an Engineering Team Leader - Mechanical for India. You will lead a mechanical engineering team, guiding design and development of Husky products and solutions with focus on innovation, quality and customer satisfaction.

You will manage design activities, enforce processes, and collaborate with supply chain, service and operations to ensure on-time delivery and robust engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s of engineering degree from an accredited university.
• 10+ years engineering experience.
• Previous leadership experience in a mechanical/industrial setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a mechanical engineering team across junior, senior and specialist roles.
• Oversee design, development and release for new Husky machine platforms and service requests.
• Ensure delivery of products meeting defined requirements and Husky operating model.
• Plan and schedule design activities to meet committed completion dates.
• Enforce Product Development Process, Design Documents and Risk Mitigation.
• Lead design reviews and executive updates for high-quality solutions.
• Establish engineering standards through solid design decisions and processes.
• Collaborate across departments (Supply chain, Service, Operations).
• Interviewing and hiring new team members.

Engineering Team Leader, Platform Mechanical

Lead and develop a mechanical engineering team made up of junior, senior, and specialist level designers in the development of new Husky products and solutions with a focus on innovation, quality, risk mitigation and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities/Areas of Accountability:

• Lead, manage and develop the team, which includes but is not limited to coaching, mentoring and cross-training.
• Oversee the design, development, and release of engineering for new Husky machine platforms as well as critical service and customer support requests.
• Ensure the team is effective in delivering new products that meet the requirements defined by the businesses as essential for success - aligned with product definition and the Husky Operating model.
• Planning and scheduling design activities to ensure committed completion dates are met as per business needs.
• Enforcement of Product Development Process, Design Documents and Risk Mitigation as well as applicable directives and standards our machines must comply with.
• Participate in, and lead as needed, technical discussions, design reviews, and executive updates to ensure the implementation of high-quality solutions with stakeholder transparency.
• Influence and establish engineering standards through solid design decisions, processes and tools.
• Participate in process creation, product architecture decisions, technology roadmap creation and continuous improvement initiatives
• Encourage team members to think, organize and lead while providing them with developmental and career growth opportunities.
• Lead effective cross-disciplinary collaboration between various stakeholders and teams.
• Facilitating collaboration between other departments (Supply chain, Service, Operations)
• Interviewing and hiring new team members.

• Excellent knowledge of the mechanical design discipline
• Demonstrates high degree of flexibility and embraces changing priorities.
• Knowledge of Husky products, tools, standards, processes and technology is an asset.

Education:

• Bachelor or Master''s of engineering degree from accredited university

Experience:

• 10+ years relevant engineering experience.
• Proven leadership experience.
• Previous engineering experience in heavy machinery or injection molding industry is an asset.
