Barclays Global Service Centre in Pune is seeking a senior engineering leader to guide and mentor Salesforce-focused teams, driving technical excellence and partnering with product and business stakeholders to deliver high‑quality software solutions.
The role emphasizes setting strategy, overseeing delivery across projects, implementing robust testing, and promoting a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
To lead and manage engineering teams, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions, driving technical excellence, fostering a culture of innovation, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to align technical decisions with business objectives.
To contribute or set strategy, drive requirements and make recommendations for change. Plan resources, budgets, and policies; manage and maintain policies/processes; deliver continuous improvements and elevate breaches of policies/procedures. If managing a team, define jobs and responsibilities, plan for the department’s future needs and operations, counsel employees on performance and contribute to employee pay decisions/changes. Lead specialists to influence department operations with strategic and tactical priorities while balancing short‑ and long‑term goals and ensuring that budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements.
For an individual contributor, demonstrate subject‑matter expertise within one's discipline and guide technical direction. Lead collaborative, multi‑year assignments; guide team members through structured assignments; identify the need for inclusion of other areas of specialization to complete assignments. Train, guide, and coach less experienced specialists and provide information affecting long‑term profits, organizational risks, and strategic decisions.
Advise key stakeholders, including functional leadership teams and senior management on functional and cross‑functional areas of impact and alignment. Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, supporting the control and governance agenda. Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk, strengthening controls, and contributing to achieving the business goals.
Collaborate with other areas to keep pace with business activity and strategies. Create solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought, comparing and selecting complex alternatives. In‑depth analysis with interpretive thinking will define problems and develop innovative solutions. Adopt research outcomes in problem‑solving processes. Build and maintain trusting relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders using influencing and negotiating skills to achieve outcomes.
