Job summary

Barclays Global Serv. Centre in Pune seeks a senior Salesforce technologist to drive architecture and lead CRM initiatives across global teams. You will mentor developers, align with product and engineering leadership, and deliver scalable Salesforce solutions in a secure, compliant environment.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

Accountabilities
  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
  • Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

  • Strong understanding of Agile software delivery methodologies and DevOps practices.
  • Experience mentoring developers, performing code reviews, and driving engineering excellence.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with Salesforce platform development.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce governor limits and platform optimization.
  • Experience designing secure and scalable Salesforce solutions.
  • Experience implementing enterprise Salesforce design patterns.
  • Experience managing large data volumes and platform performance.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce security and sharing model.
  • Strong experience with event-driven integrations using Salesforce Platform Events and asynchronous processing patterns.
  • Deep expertise in: Apex Lightning Web Components (LWC) SOQL/SOSL Flows Validation Rules Approval Processes Security Model Platform Events Salesforce Data Model.
  • Experience developing highly scalable and maintainable Salesforce solutions.
  • Hands‑on experience with Salesforce integration patterns and best practices.
  • Experience working with: OmniStudio OmniScripts FlexCards DataRaptors Integration Procedures.
  • Experience owning solution delivery from requirement analysis through design, development, testing, deployment and production support.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex production issues in enterprise Salesforce environments.
  • Hands‑on development experience using Core Java.
  • Understanding of: Spring Boot REST APIs Microservices architecture Messaging and asynchronous integration patterns.
  • Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and collaborate on Java‑based backend services supporting CRM ecosystem.
  • Experience working with enterprise integration platforms and backend systems.
  • Familiarity with logging, monitoring, and observability practices.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise integration architecture.
  • Experience designing and implementing: REST APIs Event-driven architecture Platform Events Data synchronization patterns Enterprise integration patterns.
  • Experience integrating Salesforce with Java-based microservices and distributed systems.
  • Understanding of cloud‑native application architectures and secure software design principles.
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I certification (preferred).
  • Salesforce Platform Developer II certification (desirable).
  • Salesforce Application Architect certification (desirable).
  • Experience working in Investment Banking, Capital Markets, or Financial Services domains.
  • Experience working with CRM platforms supporting front‑office business functions.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce Financial Services Cloud is advantageous.
