Job summary

Orcapod Consulting Services seeks an experienced E‑Commerce Engineering Lead to own technical delivery across SFCC/Demandware and Shopify Plus for multiple brand sites. You will drive full‑stack development, integrity of deployments, and operational reliability in a fast‑paced retail environment.

• Strong hands-on expertise in Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC / Demandware).
• Strong knowledge of SFRA, Business Manager, Controllers, Pipelines, Job Frameworks and ISML.
• E-commerce full-stack development experience.

• You will lead the E-Commerce Engineering capability across SFCC/Demandware and Shopify, ensuring technical execution and operational reliability.
• Own technical execution and codebase governance across SFCC multi-brand realms and Shopify Plus applications.
• Lead end-to-end frontend and backend engineering using Node.js, ISML, SFRA and modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Drive migration toward composable/headless architecture and API-first integrations.
• Lead engineering delivery across multiple squads within Agile sprint and PI planning cycles.
• Ensure secure coding, peer code reviews, automated testing and DevSecOps practices.
• Ensure high site availability, fast page-load performance and reliable checkout during peak events.
• Oversee integrations with middleware, OMS, POS and payment gateways.
• Track engineering metrics and manage deployments with frequent releases.
• Own operational health and maintenance of SFCC and Shopify platforms.
• Lead, mentor and develop full-stack e-commerce engineers and technical leads.
• Collaborate with Architecture, Product, Omnichannel and QA teams for delivery and capacity planning.
• Remain hands-on and contribute to complex implementation, integration, testing and production activities.

Mandatory Skills / Experience

• Strong hands-on expertise in Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC / Demandware)

Key Responsibilities

You will lead the E-Commerce Engineering capability across SFCC/Demandware and Shopify, with responsibility for technical execution, full-stack delivery and operational reliability across multiple brand websites.

The role includes:

• Own technical execution and codebase governance across SFCC multi-brand realms and Shopify Plus applications.
• Lead end-to-end frontend and backend engineering using Node.js, ISML, SFRA and modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Drive migration from monolithic SFCC implementations toward composable/headless architecture, decoupled frontend services and API-first integrations.
• Lead engineering delivery across multiple squads within Agile sprint and PI planning cycles.
• Ensure secure coding, peer code reviews, automated testing and DevSecOps practices.
• Ensure high site availability, fast page-load performance and reliable/zero-downtime checkout during peak retail events.
• Oversee integrations with middleware, OMS, POS and payment gateways.
• Track engineering and operational metrics including deployment frequency, lead time, defect escape rate and MTTR.
• Manage production deployments and continuously improve release processes toward frequent releases.
• Own the operational health and maintenance of SFCC and Shopify platforms.
• Lead, mentor and develop full-stack e-commerce engineers and technical leads.
• Partner with Architecture, Product, Omnichannel and QA teams for engineering delivery and capacity planning.
• Remain technically hands-on and contribute to complex implementation, integration, testing and production-related activities.
