Job summary

Autodesk is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the Autodesk Platform Services (APS) Engineering team in Pune, India. This hybrid role focuses on scalable cloud services, mentorship, and shaping engineering excellence at scale.

The ideal candidate will have a track record of guiding senior engineers, collaborating with product managers, and driving architectural decisions that improve resiliency and performance across distributed teams.

Qualifications

• 10-14 years of hands-on experience designing and developing platform components and highly available cloud services at scale.
• 4+ years of experience leading, mentoring, and managing development teams or similar senior roles.
• Experience managing senior talent such as Principal Engineers/Architects.
• Familiarity with AWS services and cloud platforms, plus hiring key talent for successful teams.
• Strong communication skills and ability to align goals with Product Management and senior leadership.
• Experience working with geo-distributed teams across time zones.

• Drive best practices around resiliency and engineering excellence on your team and in collaboration with others.
• Promote best practices for leveraging AI to increase productivity within and outside the team.
• Establish strong partnerships with engineering teams worldwide, networking to build common solutions, and to learn and share best practices.

Minimum Qualifications

• 10-14 years of hands-on experience in the industry designing and developing platform components and highly available cloud services at scale
• 4+ years of experience in leading, mentoring, and managing development teams, or other similar leadership roles
• Experience managing strong talent at senior levels, such as Principal Engineers / Architects
• Knowledge and experience with AWS services strongly preferred
• Experience in hiring key talent and setting up teams for success
• Familiarity with the software development lifecycle, including specification, quality assurance, and documentation
• Experience partnering with Product Management on goal alignment, risk measurement, and driving business outcomes through cross-functional collaboration
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to state complex subjects simply for a variety of audiences, and to articulate effectively to both engineering teams and senior leadership
• Experience working in and managing geo-distributed teams across time zones
