Job summary

Qualifications

• 10–14 years designing and developing scalable cloud services.
• 4+ years leading and mentoring development teams.
• Experience managing senior engineers/architects.
• AWS services experience strongly preferred.
• Experience hiring key talent and building teams.
• Familiarity with the SDLC, including specification, QA, and documentation.
• Experience partnering with Product Management on goals and cross‑functional work.
• Excellent communication to diverse audiences, including senior leadership.
• Experience managing geo‑distributed teams across time zones.

Position Overview

Autodesk is seeking a highly motivated, experienced Engineering Manager to join the Autodesk Platform Services (OSS)Engineering team. The APS platform offers APIs and services that help our customers access and use their design and engineering data via the cloud. This is a hybrid role based in Pune location, India.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to the development and execution of organization-wide objectives
• Inspire, motivate, and coach team members to achieve maximum productivity, creativity, and efficiency; mentor team members to develop their careers and achieve individual success

• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other stakeholders to drive business outcomes; provide input and oversight to the technical and product strategy of the team’s applications
• Enhance engineering efficiency; observing the team, identifying opportunities and driving improvements
• Drive best practices around resiliency and engineering excellence on your team and in collaboration with others
• Promote best practices for leveraging AI to increase productivity within and outside the team
• Establish strong partnerships with engineering teams worldwide, networking to build common solutions, and to learn and share best practices

Minimum Qualifications

• 10-14 years of hands‑on experience in the industry designing and developing platform components and highly available cloud services at scale
• 4+ years of experience in leading, mentoring, and managing development teams, or other similar leadership roles
• Experience managing strong talent at senior levels, such as Principal Engineers / Architects
• Knowledge and experience with AWS services strongly preferred
• Experience in hiring key talent and setting up teams for success
• Familiarity with the software development lifecycle, including specification, quality assurance, and documentation
• Experience partnering with Product Management on goal alignment, risk measurement, and driving business outcomes through cross‑functional collaboration
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to state complex subjects simply for a variety of audiences, and to articulate effectively to both engineering teams and senior leadership
• Experience working in and managing geo‑distributed teams across time zones
