Job summary

Autodesk's Platform Services and Emerging Technologies team in Pune is seeking a Software Engineer (Java AWS) to help build core cloud services and web client components powering Autodesk SaaS applications.

You will collaborate with product owners and architects, design and implement scalable Java solutions on AWS, and participate in automated testing and on-call support. Hybrid work model offered.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
• 1+ years of production-level hands-on Java development experience (Java 8+)
• Hands-on experience with AWS technologies such as ECS, SQS, S3, Elasticache, IAM, and Lambda
• Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs

Position Overview

Autodesk's Platform Services and Emerging Technologies team is looking for a passionate Software Engineer (Java AWS) to join our team. Our organizational ecosystem comprises of cloud services and web client components. You will play a significant role in building core components and services, which power Autodesk SaaS applications in industries of manufacturing, architecture, engineering and construction, media and entertainment with efficient and flexible data management capabilities. This is an opportunity to work on applications which directly influence over 10 million professionals in 185 countries, using Autodesk products to save time and money, gain competitive advantage, and change the way ideas are brought to life.

You will be based in Pune, India and report to the Manager of Software Development. We offer a flexible hybrid work model.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the complete software development lifecycle, including architecture, design, estimation, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Design, develop, troubleshoot, and maintain high-quality software solutions while building comprehensive automated test coverage.
• Partner with product owners, software architects and other software engineers to iteratively turn high-level requirements into product enhancements that are delivered to customers incrementally.
• Continuously improve engineering processes, development practices, and team productivity to better address customer and business needs.
• Monitor large-scale production applications and perform log analysis, debugging and maintenance via on-call support rotations.
• Leverage AI-assisted development practices, including Spec-Driven Development, code generation, automated reviews, and developer productivity tools to accelerate software delivery while maintaining quality standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
• 1+ years of production-level hands-on Java development experience (ideally with Java 8+)
• Hands-on experience with AWS (or other cloud provider's) technologies such as ECS, SQS, S3, Elasticache, IAM, and Lambda.
• Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience in building, running and monitoring SaaS applications at large scale
• Experience using Terraform to build infrastructure as code
• Experience building scalable systems and services in the cloud, within Microservice and/or Serverless architectures
• Experience with multi-repo GIT code bases, RESTful web services, testing frameworks such as Blazemeter, shell scripts, automated CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with Scala
