Job summary

Recrew AI in Bengaluru is seeking a senior leader to head the Central Cloud Infrastructure team in India. You will guide three engineers, shape strategy, and drive modernization of cloud-native AWS platforms while ensuring compliance and scalable operations.

The role blends hands-on architecture with cross-functional leadership across a globally distributed engineering org, including on-call incident response and cost/performance optimization.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of devops/cloud infra infrastructure engineering experience.
• 1–2+ years managing cloud infrastructure or SRE teams
• Production-grade experience with AWS (EC2, EKS, Lambda, S3, VPC)
• Terraform and Kubernetes/EKS at scale
• Experience managing PCI DSS and SOC2 compliance in cloud environments
• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field

Responsibilities

• Directly manage, mentor, and drive the technical and career growth of three cloud infrastructure engineers based in India
• Own and evolve the CCI team’s strategy, roadmap, and scope with prioritization across workstreams
• Lead infrastructure modernization including migration to a unified cloud-native AWS architecture
• Serve as the cloud stakeholder with focus on performance, cost, security, and platform health
• Maintain PCI and SOC2 compliance across cloud environments; architect disaster recovery plans
• Act as connective layer between CCI and other engineering teams to enable shared tooling
• Participate in on-call rotation for high-urgency infra incidents and use AI tooling to accelerate workflows

Position Overview

This role leads the Central Cloud Infrastructure (CCI) team in India — a three-engineer group that governs cloud usage, manages foundational AWS infrastructure, develops shared tooling, and enforces PCI and SOC2 compliance across the organization. The manager bridges tactical execution and long-term cloud strategy, ensuring the platform scales reliably as the company expands into new physical venue categories. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both architectural depth and cross-functional coordination across a globally distributed engineering organization.

Role & Responsibilities

• Directly manage, mentor, and drive the technical and career growth of three cloud infrastructure engineers based in India
• Own and evolve the CCI team's strategy, roadmap, and scope — including prioritization across workstreams based on technical dependencies and business urgency
• Lead infrastructure modernization efforts, including migration of legacy systems into a unified, cloud-native AWS architecture
• Serve as the cloud stakeholder with a long-term view on performance, cost efficiency, security posture, and platform health
• Maintain PCI and SOC2 compliance across cloud environments; architect and own disaster recovery plans
• Act as the connective layer between CCI and other engineering teams — broadcasting team goals, surfacing dependencies, and enabling shared tooling reuse
• Participate in on-call rotation for high-urgency infrastructure incidents; leverage AI tooling to automate and accelerate engineering workflows

Must Have Criteria

• 10+ years of devops/cloud infra infrastructure engineering experience, with 1–2+ years managing cloud infrastructure, or SRE teams
• Hands-on , able to architect, troubleshoot, and review infrastructure directly
• Production-grade experience with AWS (EC2, EKS, Lambda, S3, VPC), Terraform, and Kubernetes/EKS at scale
• Working knowledge of Helm, containerization, Kafka, SQL databases, cloud networking, and Python scripting
• Demonstrated experience managing PCI DSS and SOC2 compliance requirements in cloud environments
• Track record of leading infrastructure modernization — integrating legacy systems into cloud-native architectures
• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline

Nice to Have

• Experience with Atmos (Terraform component framework) in multi-account AWS environments
• Prior engineering leadership in high-growth, Series B–D startups or scale-ups
• Exposure to real-time data pipelines or event-driven architectures at high throughput
