Job summary

Emergent, Bengaluru-based, is building autonomous coding agents to replace traditional software development. This Engineering Manager role leads a high-performing team of engineers responsible for platform and product capabilities, balancing people leadership with technical depth in a fast-moving, global-scale environment.

You'll mentor engineers, own end-to-end delivery, shape roadmaps with Product and Design, and drive ownership, code quality, and operational excellence while scaling systems

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 1 to 3 years of experience leading or managing engineering teams.
• Strong computer science fundamentals and system design skills.
• Experience building and operating production systems at scale using modern backend technologies (Python, Java, Kotlin, Go, or similar).
• Proven ability to own projects end-to-end and deliver with high quality.
• Excellent communication skills and a strong product mindset.

About the Team:
The Engineering team at Emergent builds the core systems that power our autonomous agents, platform reliability, and product velocity. We operate in an engineering-first environment with high ownership, fast feedback loops, and a strong bias toward shipping. The team works closely with Product, Research, and Design to turn ambitious ideas into production-grade systems.
