Job summary

Emergent seeks a Senior Software Engineer to secure our infrastructure powering autonomous coding agents. You will own security across multi-tenant execution environments, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD pipelines in a global-scale production system.

Ideal candidates have 5–8 years in Cloud or Infrastructure Security with deep AWS/GCP, Kubernetes, and IAM/secrets experience. You’ll collaborate with founders and core engineers to solve unique security challenges in AI-driven software.

• Strong understanding of container security, network security, and runtime protection.

Responsibilities

• Secure multi-tenant execution environments and sandboxed code execution.
• Harden AWS/GCP infrastructure across IAM, VPCs, secrets and workloads.
• Develop runtime security, detection, logging, and real-time alerting integrations (SIEM).
• Protect build systems and CI/CD pipelines against supply chain attacks.

Senior Software Engineer - Infrastructure Security

The Role:
Emergent runs a massive, multi-tenant, AI-driven execution environment where code is generated and executed continuously. You will secure the infrastructure that powers autonomous software creation.

What You'll Do:

Secure Multi-Tenant Execution Environments

• Design sandboxing strategies for untrusted code execution
• Prevent container escapes, privilege escalation, and lateral movement
• Build isolation at compute, network, and storage layers

Own Cloud Security Architecture

• Harden AWS/GCP infrastructure across IAM, VPCs, secrets, and workloads
• Design zero-trust systems across services
• Build secure service-to-service communication

Runtime Security and Detection

• Build detection systems for abnormal execution patterns, malicious workloads, and data exfiltration attempts
• Integrate logging, SIEM, and real-time alerting

Secure CI/CD and Agent Pipelines

• Protect build systems and deployment pipelines
• Prevent supply chain attacks in AI-generated code
• Ensure integrity of artifacts

What We’re Looking For:

• 5 to 8 years in Cloud or Infrastructure Security
• Deep experience with AWS/GCP, Kubernetes, containers, and IAM and secrets management
• Strong understanding of container security, network security, and runtime protection
