Job summary

DAZN’s Hyderabad technology hub seeks an experienced Engineering Manager to lead backend engineering teams focused on scalable SaaS and platform capabilities using Java, microservices, AWS, and Node.js. The role requires guiding architecture, delivery, and operational excellence across cross-functional teams.

You will mentor engineers, drive cloud-native initiatives, and champion best practices in CI/CD, observability, security, and performance to support high-traffic, low-latency sports

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with at least 2+ years in leadership roles.
• Hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, Node.js/TypeScript, REST APIs, AWS.
• Experience building SaaS platforms or large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of event-driven architectures, Kafka, Docker & Kubernetes, CI/CD, and scalability patterns.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor backend and full-stack engineers building scalable distributed systems.
• Drive architecture and delivery of cloud-native applications and microservices.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, QA, DevOps, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Own engineering execution, sprint planning, roadmap delivery, and operational excellence.
• Build highly available, resilient systems on AWS with observability and security in mind.
• Drive modernization from monoliths to event-driven microservices architectures.

Good to Have

• Experience in OTT, Media Streaming, AdTech, Payments, or Subscription platforms.
• Exposure to high-scale consumer applications serving global audiences.
• Knowledge of observability tools such as Datadog, Grafana, or ELK.
• Experience with React or frontend ecosystems is an added advantage.
