As an Engineering Manager on the Flywheel team, you will drive architecture, design, delivery, and operational excellence, collaborating with cross-functional partners to turn complex requirements into high-impact results and foster Continuous Improvement.
Responsibilities
- Guide multiple high-performing Scrum teams to launch innovative product features that delight users and propel the business forward.
- Partner with senior leadership to nurture a culture of learning, experimentation, and ongoing excellence within the Product Engineering organization.
- Steer architectural discussions and strategic decision-making for mission-critical product areas, ensuring platforms are robust, scalable, and future-ready.
- Define, refine, and champion a rigorous SDLC process, ensuring consistency, quality, and speed.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies that accelerate product and infrastructure evolution.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance, helping engineers grow and tackling complex technical challenges together.
- Establish and track key performance metrics that empower teams, drive agile delivery, and continuously improve product quality.
- Identify talent gaps, recruit exceptional engineers, and craft interview processes tailored to each role’s requirements.
Qualifications
- 5+ years leading and inspiring software engineering teams, with a proven ability to deliver results.
- 8+ years hands-on Java development experience, with a deep understanding of high-transaction enterprise systems.
- Mastery of Core Java, Spring, Spring Boot, and Hibernate; experienced with messaging patterns (Kafka, ActiveMQ).
- Comfortable with JavaScript, AngularJS, and HTML5.
- Deep knowledge of database technologies, advanced SQL, and principles such as schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning.
- Experience in automated testing across unit, integration, and functional levels; adept at integrating code quality tools and managing version control.
- Skilled in Agile Project Management tools (e.g., JIRA) and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities, with a knack for mentoring and elevating junior talent.
- Strong expertise in continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
