Job summary

Siemens Limited in Goa, India is seeking an Engineering Lead for IoT and Digitalization to spearhead scalable, secure systems across product and platform initiatives. You will collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, and Scrum Masters to deliver enterprise-grade solutions throughout the full SDLC.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong knowledge of backend/frontend stacks, containerization with Docker/Kubernetes, and DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related discipline.
• 10-12 years of experience in software development and delivery, incl. enterprise-grade apps.
• Proficiency in Agile software development, including Scrum ceremonies, backlog mgmt, planning and release planning.
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps for backlog mgmt, work item tracking, sprint execution, reporting, source control integration, and release mgmt.
• Strong understanding of backend and frontend technologies enabling full-stack collaboration.
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms; practical DevOps exposure.
• Knowledge of software quality practices incl. unit/integration testing and code reviews.
• Experience with Git and code quality tools like SonarQube; conduct code reviews and enforce standards.
• Knowledge of application security, data privacy regulations, and compliance such as GDPR/ISO 27001.
• Familiarity with observability/monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
• Excellent debugging, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities; ability to build high-performing Agile teams.

Responsibilities

• Decompose features into well-defined user stories; estimate effort and plan releases.

• Lead Agile ceremonies and foster team alignment and continuous improvement.

• Monitor progress with dashboards and metrics; use data-driven insights to improve predictability.
• Ensure engineering best practices, code quality, automated testing, CI/CD and secure coding.
• Coordinate cross-functional activities to deliver features/releases with quality and customer satisfaction.
• Mentor engineers and promote technical excellence and ownership across the team.

We are looking for an Engineering Lead with strong experience in building scalable, secure, and maintainable systems. This role is central for delivering the solutions as committed for our digitalization initiatives in IoT. The ideal candidate should be hands-on with full SDLC practices.

What are my responsibilities?

• Partner with Product Owners, Solution Architects, QA Engineers, and Scrum Masters to translate business priorities into scalable, high-quality technical solutions while proactively removing engineering roadblocks and improving development efficiency and release quality.
• Drive implementation planning by decomposing prioritized features into well-defined user stories, ensuring clear acceptance criteria, estimating effort, and facilitating release planning activities for the Scrum team.
• Collaborate with Product Owners to continuously refine and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring work items are ready for development and aligned with business objectives.
• Lead and facilitate Agile ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives, fostering team alignment, transparency, and continuous improvement.
• Manage and track sprint execution, team capacity, velocity, and delivery commitments using Azure DevOps, ensuring timely identification and resolution of risks, dependencies, and impediments.
• Monitor work progress and team performance through Azure DevOps dashboards, metrics, and reporting, leveraging data-driven insights to improve predictability, productivity, and delivery outcomes.
• Ensure adherence to engineering best practices, including code quality standards, peer reviews, automated testing, CI/CD processes, and secure software development practices.
• Coordinate cross-functional activities to ensure successful delivery of features, releases, and customer commitments while maintaining a strong focus on product quality and customer satisfaction.
• Mentor and support engineering team members through technical guidance, coaching, and knowledge sharing to foster professional growth and build high-performing teams.
