Position Overview

Senior Piping Material Engineer assists in leading and controlling Piping material for Topside facilities in FPSO/FLNG or Offshore facilities. The role supports the Head of Discipline, manages a corporate organization, and mentors junior Engineers. Responsibilities include developing corporate technical standards, procedures, workflow, and engineering platform (e.g., design data integration), keeping them updated, integral, practical and fit to purpose with incorporation of Project Lesson Learnt. The Engineer conducts technical validation and quality assurance (input/output data accuracy, technical appropriateness, consistency, practicality, code, optimum solution and regulatory compliance) in executing Feasibility /Conceptual Study /Pre‑FEED /FEED, EPCI Engineering for FPSO/FLNG or Offshore projects. The Engineer shall analyze and identify optimal solutions, communicate them through technical reports, and may require frequent travel to the US, Europe and Asia. The ideal candidate has a strong background in the Offshore Oil & Gas Industry and will support Hanwha Ocean engineering teams based in USA, Netherlands, Singapore, India and elsewhere for conceptual, pre‑FEED and FEED projects in the offshore area.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead for Topside Piping Material in the Project Team.
• Update and maintain the EPCI and O & M phase Lesson Learnt database.
• Prepare and develop all engineering documents in accordance with relevant design codes, standards, client project specifications and quality management system.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Provide engineering expertise and support to formulate the optimal, competitive, efficient, safe and environmentally compliant piping and utility system.
• Attend project meetings internally and externally (with clients, third‑party, sub‑contractor) and generate minutes of meetings.
• Manage interface with all relevant disciplines to obtain necessary information for material engineering or to provide data to other disciplines.
• Perform pipe wall‑thickness calculations in accordance with ASME B31.3 / B31.4 and B31.8 codes and standards and regulations.
• Prepare piping material specifications, valve material specifications, specialty item datasheets, piping bulk MTO and manual valve MTO.
• Prepare RFQs, TBEs for piping bulk MTO and manual valves, and SP items.
• Review vendor proposals, prepare technical bid clarifications, attend clarification meetings, review and approve vendor data and deliverables.
• Review vendor documents and engineering deliverables to ensure full compliance with contract requirements and company/client specifications.
• Assist in resolving technical issues during fabrication, installation and commissioning phases.
• Report area of concerns, progress and plan to Head of Discipline/Lead.
• Review the work of less experienced team members to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Maintain accurate records of design changes, decisions and project milestones.
• Conduct feasibility studies, Pre‑FEED, FEED, FEED Verification (inception of EPCI phase) and EPCI phase engineering.
• Provide engineering review and support for bid proposals.
• Raise technical queries regarding the client’s project documents and design basis to ensure all scopes of work and design basis are clarified.

Qualifications

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of working experience with 5 years’ experience in Oil & Gas industries (FPSO contractor or Offshore/Onshore EPC contractor).
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Fluent in English with strong oral and written communication skills.
