Google is seeking a senior leader for Trust and Safety to guide AI‑driven defenses across Google Ads, protecting users and partners from abuse. You will lead a global, cross‑functional team and translate data trends into strategic defense measures.

You will develop scalable AI solutions, evaluate vendor architectures, and advance governance that keeps pace with evolving threats while maintaining advertiser experience.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.


• 7 years of experience developing technical strategy and executing data-driven solutions, including building and managing multi-tiered policy enforcement systems.


• 3 years of experience in people management, including mentoring analytical and technical teams (e.g., data scientists, engineering analysts) in applied AI.


• Experience translating data analyses and emerging abuse trends into business strategies for non-technical stakeholders and leadership.

Preferred qualifications

• 10 years of experience in technical strategy and execute data-driven solutions at scale, including building and managing complex, multi-tiered policy enforcement systems.


• Understanding of machine learning lifecycles, human-in-the-loop workflows, precision/recall metrics, and model drift, with the ability to confidently evaluate vendor technical architectures and scale AI-driven defenses.


• Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex technical issues clearly to stakeholders at different levels and to influence decision‑making across roles.


• Excellent problem‑solving and critical thinking skills with attention to detail in an ever‑changing environment.

Trust and Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of the products. They use technical know‑how, excellent problem‑solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and the partners from abuse across Google Ads products. On this team, you are a big‑picture thinker and strategic team‑player with a passion for doing what’s right. You work globally and cross‑functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and fight abuse and fraud cases at Google speed – with urgency. And you take pride in knowing that every day you are working hard to promote users’ trust in Google and ensuring the highest levels of user safety.

In this role, you will lead a high‑performing team fighting adversarial actors in Google Ads. You will apply your data science and fraud detection leadership to drive AI transformation, developing scaled solutions to protect users from complex threats like malware and cloaking. Work closely with cross‑functional partners in Ads Safety, AP Engineering, and gTech, architect defense‑in‑depth strategies that balance user safety with a streamlined advertiser experience. Lead the development of advanced AI‑driven clustering models, establish robust evaluation frameworks for Agentic AI, and pioneer rigorous false‑negative measurement methodologies. Oversee the training of next‑generation AI Agents/ML models and advocating site‑wide AI upskilling, scale our defensive capabilities, ensuring we stay one step ahead of evolving adversaries.

Responsibilities

• Direct and mentor a high‑performing team of Engineering Analysts, fostering AI transformation, operational excellence and strategic execution against adversarial fraud.


• Partner with PM, Engineering, and Legal to build Defense in Depth strategies that enhance user safety and fortify the Google Ads ecosystem against emerging threats.


• Lead the development of AI‑driven enforcement capabilities, to proactively combat abuse at scale. Establish robust evaluation frameworks for the AI era, pioneering rigorous measurement methodologies and overseeing programs to train next‑generation AI agents/ML Models for fraud detection.


• Lead investigations into complex TTPs (Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures) to perform actor tracking and disrupt organized fraud rings targeting Google Ads.


• Partner closely with sales leadership to architect and implement streamlined recovery experiences for advertisers impacted by policy enforcement, balancing user harm with advertiser experience.
