Job summary

WSP in India is seeking a civil/structural engineer to support project delivery under supervision of senior engineers. You will perform detailed design, calculations, and coordination with teams to meet client deadlines.

The role requires 4+ years of related experience, fluency in English, and strong knowledge of RAM, ETABS, STAAD, SAFE and CSC. The position is on site with WSP India ME Team, offering growth in a challenging environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of civil/structural engineering experience.
• Experience with standard structural engineering software.
• Familiarity with QA processes and document control.

Responsibilities

• Follow QA and document control processes for drawings, specs, reports and correspondence.
• Assist in compiling design specifications and cross-reference manufacturer literature.
• Organize detailed design per client requirements and sign off with Local CRC Head of Structures.
• Undertake technical calculations and coordinate with team members to meet deadlines.
• Prepare elemental work for project budget costing within deadlines.
• Address day-to-day queries from WSP India ME Team with timely information.
• Contribute to technical/construction discussions and mentor trainees.
• Determine appropriate software for CAD, construct models, and perform analyses.

This role is to work as part of a team to support the delivery of projects. This role will be working under the supervision of a senior or Principal engineer to carry out the following functions

Responsibilities

Core Functions

Follow in full the document control and QA processes relevant to project work, ensuring drawings, specifications, reports and correspondence are issued, and filed / archived in an appropriate manner

Assist others in compiling design specification within given deadlines including checking compliance with the project brief through calculation and cross reference of manufacturers literature; ensuring all relevant standards and guides are used as reference with the design specification

Organize and carry out detailed design as per client requirements in accordance with standard codes, QA and technical review and sign off by the Local CRC Head of Structures, including complex calculations and co‑ordination issues

Organise and undertake technical calculations to industry standards in conjunction with team members; supervise the work of team members to ensure the delegated work is completed to deadlines / standard and report to the project leader any issues, risks or client changes

Prepare elemental work for project budget costing as delegated by the senior team member, within agreed deadlines and standards

Deal with the day‑to‑day queries from the WSP in India ME Team, ensuring that relevant information is available on time for construction activity

Contribute to and question technical and construction issues and encourage and help the trainees to better understand the design process

• Determine appropriate software for Computer Aided Design, construct models and undertake analysis and manual checks

Complete timesheet accurately ahead of weekly deadlines

Desired Skills

Hands on experience on working with standard structural engineering software’s

Applicants need to be able to demonstrate good communication and technical skills and be capable of working both within the team and independently, as dictated by workload

The applicant will have experience in the design of Building Structures with experience in a similar role or demonstration of a good track record

Must be conversant with technical structural software, such as RAM, CSC, ETABS, SAFE and STAAD

A sound understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Project is essential

Must be fluent in English with an excellent understanding of technical terminology

Qualifications

The candidate should possess a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and possess membership to an accredited engineering body
