Job summary

First Solar India is seeking a Quality Assurance professional to define, implement, and monitor the quality system per ISO standards. You will train staff, interact with engineering and other departments, and drive corrective actions for continuous improvement across safety, quality, productivity and cost savings.

The role requires 4–7 years in manufacturing, a technical bachelor degree, and strong skills in JMP/SQL for reliability analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in any technical field from accredited program.
• 4–7 years related working experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of ISO standards, IEC, VDE or UL requirements; audits experience is a plus.
• Six Sigma knowledge is preferred; Green Belt required, Black Belt a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Quality Assurance procedures per ISO standards.
• Train personnel on Quality System requirements and procedures.
• Interface with other departments and customers on quality issues and corrective actions.
• Define and implement corrective actions and continuous improvement projects.
• Lead quality-related root cause analysis using structured methods.
• Participate in ISO internal audits and production readiness activities.
• Coordinate quality technician activity and monitor performance.

Job description

Define, implement and monitor quality system (including training), materials, and product specification according to company policy and ISO standards to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction and work with engineering team in troubleshooting process and equipment related issues for continuous improvement.

Experience:

• 4 -7 years related working experience in a manufacturing environment

Education:

• Bachelor Degree in any technical field from accredited program

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Responsible for the development and the maintenance of Quality Assurance procedures and records per ISO standards.
• Responsible for the training of personnel on Quality System requirements and procedures as required.
• Interface with other departments and customer on quality issues and feedback for root cause and corrective action.
• Define and implement corrective action and continuous improvement activities as assigned.
• Drive continuous improvement project in area of safety, quality, productivity and cost saving.

• Utilize structured problem-solving methodology (7-Step, Why-Why Analysis, Fishbone diagram etc) in addressing internal quality issues and customer complaint.
• Participate in ISO internal audit as internal auditor.
• Participate in production readiness program.
• Communicate between different plants and ensure copy smart philosophy is followed.
• Assess risk evaluation and risk mitigation of quality issues and customer complaint.
• Train, plan, coordinate and supervise quality technician activity, and keep track their performance and development when applicable.
• Responsible for PRM test and ensure test and measurements are carried out in compliance to control plans and work instructions, including PRM sample management. (Applicable to Quality Operation)
• Perform data analysis using JMP and SQL application and prepare reports for reliability investigation and reliability test metrics. (Applicable to Quality Operation)

Physical Requirements:

• Sit and stand periodically during the day.
• Will walk and climb stairs.
• May lift up to 50 lbs.
• Required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects.
• May stoop, crouch, talk and hear.
• Specific vision abilities are required.
• All associates working on the production floor may be required to wear a respirator at any given time and thus, the ability to wear a respirator is a condition of employment and continued employment (requires little or no facial hair).
