Job summary

Ohmium Operations Private Limited seeks an experienced Supplier Quality Assurance professional to lead IQA and SQA functions. You will develop QC plans, inspect incoming materials, and ensure conformance to drawings and standards, while coordinating with suppliers for corrective actions.

The role requires 3–5 years in quality, familiarity with inspection tools, and the ability to drive CAPA and NCR processes within a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical/Production/Industrial/Electronics or related field.
• 3–5 years in quality, especially IQA and SQA.
• Familiarity with measuring instruments and advanced measurement systems.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specs, and tolerances.
• Knowledge of NCR, rejection handling, and CAPA processes.
• Experience in manufacturing sectors (engineering goods, automotive, EMS).
• Quality certifications (ISO, Lean Six Sigma) are a plus.

Job description

Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA)

• Understand drawing and specification requirements, develop QC plans and MFRs, and conduct FAIs.
• Inspect incoming raw materials, components, and purchased parts as per defined specifications and standards.
• Verify conformance to drawings, purchase requirements, and quality standards.
• Identify, document, and segregate non-conforming materials.
• Coordinate with suppliers for rejection, return, and corrective actions.
• Support supplier evaluation and monitor supplier quality performance.

Incoming Quality Assurance (IQA)

• Conduct incoming inspection and ensure only conforming materials are released for production use.
• Develop inspection and sampling methodology using statistical tools to maintain QC programs.
• Maintain inspection records, material inspection reports, and traceability.
• Ensure adherence to inspection plans, standards, and quality procedures.
• Identify proper disposition of non-conforming materials (rework, return, scrap).

Quality Problem Solving & Improvement

• Use quality tools such as 7 QC tools, 5‑Why analysis, and Fishbone diagrams to investigate issues.
• Assist in reducing material rejection, scrap, and rework through effective analysis and actions.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, Lean, 5S).

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain quality documentation including inspection reports, NCRs, and CAPA records.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and internal quality management system requirements.
• Support internal and external audits related to incoming material quality.
• Prepare and present quality and rejection trend reports.

Support to Manufacturing / Process Team

• Work closely with manufacturing/process teams to analyze rejections on the production line due to material issues.
• Participate in root cause analysis of material‑related defects identified at the manufacturing stage.
• Support implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to eliminate recurrence.
• Provide feedback to suppliers and internal teams on material quality issues affecting production.
• Track rejection trends linked to incoming materials and drive improvement actions.

Education and Experience

• B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, Electronics or related fields.
• 3–5 years of experience in Quality, particularly in incoming quality inspection (IQA) and supplier quality (SQA).
• Familiarity with measuring instruments (caliper, micrometer, height gauge, etc.), analytical techniques, and advanced measurement systems.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and tolerances.
• Knowledge of NCR, rejection handling, and CAPA processes.
• Experience with material rejection analysis and supplier coordination preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing sector (engineering goods, products, automotive, EMS) required.
• Quality certifications (ISO, Lean Six Sigma, etc.) are an added advantage.
