Job summary

Ingersoll Rand seeks a Quality Control Engineer (Engineer QC) for our Sriperumbudur site in Tamil Nadu. You will ensure product quality throughout manufacturing and support inspections, documentation, ERP transactions, audits, and quality records.

You will coordinate with cross-functional teams, maintain QAPs and test certificates, track GRN/PPM, and help prepare manuals and delivery documentation while ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and company standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3–6 years of quality control experience in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of ERP systems, engineering drawings, inspection tools, MS Office.
• Fluent in English and Tamil; strong communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely GRN clearance in ERP.
• Support production order closing activities in ERP.
• Maintain records of rejected parts and hand over to Stores.
• Support ISO, customer, and other quality audits.
• Prepare QA documentation: QAPs, Third Party Inspections, and project orders.
• Ensure traceability with GRN, PPM, and defect history.
• Maintain QC documentation for system deliveries.

Job Summary

The Quality Control Engineer will be responsible for ensuring product quality throughout the manufacturing process and supporting inspection, documentation, ERP transactions, audit compliance, and quality records management.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely GRN clearance in ERP.
• Support production order closing activities in ERP.
• Follow up on all rejected parts/materials, maintain records, and hand over to Stores.
• Provide support for ISO, customer, and other compliance audits.
• Collect and maintain documents related to approved QAPs, Third Party Inspections, customer orders, and project orders.
• Perform basic product and system inspections whenever required.
• Follow up daily on Pump Test Certificates (TCs) based on final inspection reports.
• Prepare and circulate pending GRN and PPM reports every Friday.
• Maintain rejection history records for both in-house and supplier-related quality issues.
• Support preparation of manuals, test certificates, and dispatch documentation for system deliveries.
• Maintain GRN clearance data in tracking sheets.
• Follow up QC godown stock statements and ensure timely clearance of materials.
• Coordinate with Stores, Production, Procurement, and Engineering teams to resolve quality concerns.
• Ensure compliance with company quality standards and applicable quality management systems.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field. 3-6 years.
• Quality control experience in manufacturing. Knowledge of ERP systems, engineering drawings, inspection tools, MS Office, English and Tamil.

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements

Fully site-based role with occasional travel to supplier and customer locations.
