Job summary

Linde Engineering in Vadodara, India seeks an experienced Area Engineer/Area Lead for plant layout and piping design. The role involves executing assigned work independently while coordinating with stakeholders across disciplines.

The candidate should have substantial experience with S3D, PDMS, E3D, and related tools, and a strong grasp of industry codes and practices. This position requires ownership of deliverables within project budgets and schedules.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–10 years of experience in plant layout and piping design for Reformer, Fired Heater, petrochemical, chemical, or similar process industries.
• Good understanding of applicable codes, regulations, and engineering practices for facility design.
• Proficiency with design tools including S3D, PDMS, E3D, AutoCAD, MicroStation, SPR and Navisworks.

Responsibilities

• Execute assigned tasks within defined parameters with minimum guidance from the Lead Engineer.
• Prepare high-quality deliverables within the agreed budget and schedule, taking full ownership of assigned responsibilities.
• Identify, discuss, and resolve interface issues with other engineering disciplines.
• Apply client, international, and company standards during engineering execution.
• Interpret PFDs, P&IDs, vendor drawings, and implement them accurately in detailed design.
• Demonstrate proficiency in S3D, PDMS, and E3D for plant layout and piping design activities.
• Use AutoCAD, MicroStation, SPR, Navisworks for design review and deliverable preparation.
• Extract 2D drawings and piping isometrics from S3D or E3D models.
• Prepare and check material take-offs as required for project execution.
• Check piping isometrics for technical accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.

• Ability to execute assigned plant layout and piping design areas, as well as small projects, independently.


• Working knowledge of PDMS, E3D, S3D, MicroStation , SPR , Navisworks , and related engineering design tools .
