Job summary

Motherson is seeking a skilled MES & traceability specialist to lead end-to-end implementation on production lines. You will collaborate with OEMs, automation teams, IT, Production, and Quality to ensure successful integration and data governance.

You will define data points, signals, and dashboards, prepare system requirements, and coordinate with vendors to meet timelines. The role demands live production experience, strong problem-solving, and clear communication.

Qualifications

• Good understanding of shop-floor automation, PLCs, sensors, machine interfaces, and data collection.
• Exposure to MES, traceability, barcode / QR / RFID systems, machine connectivity, and production data flow.
• Ability to work in a live production environment with strict uptime requirements.
• Strong coordination skills with vendors, system integrators, OEMs, IT, Production, and Quality teams.
• Good understanding of FAT, SAT, commissioning, system testing, and go-live support.
• Ability to convert manufacturing requirements into system logic, workflows, reports, and validation plans.
• Strong project management, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end implementation of MES and any traceability systems on production lines.
• Collaborate with machine OEMs, automation teams, IT, Production, Quality, and system integrators for machine-to-system integration.
• Define and validate machine data points, PLC signals, sensors, workflows, traceability logic, reports, and dashboards.
• Prepare and review DFM / system requirement documents aligned with manufacturing and traceability needs.
• Coordinate with vendors and system integrators to ensure timelines, deliverables, and technical requirements are met.
• Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, UAT, go-live, and post-go-live stabilization.
• Ensure MES deployment, upgrades, and changes are completed with no or minimal production downtime.
• Identify project risks early and drive mitigation actions to avoid delays or operational disruption.
• Train operators, engineers, and stakeholders on MES / Traceability usage.
• Monitor post-implementation performance and drive continuous improvement.
