Job summary

GE Vernova Hydro Power India Private Limited in Vadodara seeks an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to the design, analysis, and optimization of hydro generator components. You will ensure drawings and BOMs meet project requirements and collaborate with supply chain to maintain schedules.

The role requires strong fundamentals in materials, manufacturing processes, and 3D CAD (UG NX), with a minimum of five years in hydro-related design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical or higher.
• Total experience >5 years with min 3 years in mechanical design of hydro generators.
• Experienced in basic design, calculations and detail engineering of hydro generators.
• Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and strength of materials.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic design, calculations and specifications for generator parts.
• Check final manufacturing drawings and BoM from product definition.
• Specify materials, tolerances, assembly requirements, and other design requirements.
• Deliver design, drawings and BOMs per project schedule and budget with quality.
• Collaborate with supply chain during execution of parts.

Role & Responsibilities

• Perform Basic Design, calculations & specification for Generator parts.
• Checking of final manufacturing drawings and BoM coming from Product definition.
• Specify material, tolerances, assembly requirements and other design requirements.
• Responsible to deliver design, drawing and BOMs as per project schedule & budget limits with right level of quality.
• Open mind, creative thinking, and cohesive team effort to maintain healthy group dynamics.
• Responsible for timely execution of projects & his key deliverables, First pass yield, Validation of design through lead engineers & Consulting.
• Support to Supply chain during execution of parts.
• Respects GE Vernova design practices & technical standards (Quality, TRS...)
• Understands Reliability / Safety / Cost.
• Will work closely with supply chain & other functions & interfacing CoEs and Regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) or above
• Knowledge / Experience: total experience desired > 5 years and min 3 years in mechanical design of Hydro Generator.
• Experienced in Basic Design & calculations, Detail Engineering of Hydro Generator
• Applied knowledge of Mechanical engg specifically strength of materials and mechanics
• Exposure to materials, manufacturing Processes
• Experienced in Design & Engineering Processes
• Good level in 'MS Office' Application User Level SAP System, PLM (Enovia)
• Experienced in 3D CAD System preferably UG NX
