Job Description Summary
The Maintenance Specialist is responsible for the operational integrity, reliability, and performance of the plant maintenance infrastructure. This role focuses on maintaining machinery, utility systems, and material handling equipment, while driving mechanical and electrical improvement projects and ensuring the safety and efficiency of all mechanical and electrical assets.
Job Description Key Responsibilities
- Perform Preventive (PM), Predictive (PdM), and Breakdown maintenance for manufacturing and facility equipment.
- Manage and repair complex mechanical systems, including Fluid Power: Hydraulic, pneumatic, and compressor system.
- Drive Systems: Gearboxes, motors, pumps, and valves and associated equipment.
- Lubrication: Implement and oversee comprehensive lubrication management programs.
- Ensure availability and reliability of material handling equipment, such as forklifts, reach stackers, power pushers, hydraulic lifters, and trolleys.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on mechanical failures and implement long-term corrective actions.
- Support fabrication, welding, structural modifications, and mechanical improvement projects based on plant requirements.
- Lead Kaizen initiatives, specifically focusing on Poka-Yoke (error-proofing), cost reduction, and mechanical process optimization.
- Monitor critical mechanical KPIs, including MTBF, MTTR, and PM Compliance.
- Manage critical spare parts inventory to ensure the availability of essential mechanical components.
- Maintain accurate ISO documentation and daily maintenance check-sheets.
- Ensure full compliance with safety permits and machine safety standards for all mechanical tasks.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor of Engineering / B.Tech with Extensive hands-on experience of 6 to 8 Years in Electrical and mechanical maintenance within an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Strong technical proficiency in hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment.
- Knowledge on AutoCAD is added advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to perform and knowledge on welding and fabrication tasks.
- Competency in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implementing preventive strategies.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to mechanical work and permit-to-work systems.
- Experience in managing spare parts and maintenance documentation (ISO standards).
