Job summary

Macromill in Bengaluru seeks a Senior Engineering Leader to own the technical direction of applications built with Go and React. You will guide system design, drive delivery, and contribute hands-on when needed.

You will mentor engineers, foster cross‑functional collaboration with product and platform teams, and scale architectures for performance and reliability while advancing CI/CD, testing, and observability.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• At least 3 years in engineering manager or equivalent technical leadership.
• Strong backend with Go and production-grade design.
• Strong frontend with React and TypeScript.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical direction, architecture, and delivery of applications built using Go and React.
• Lead system design and architectural discussions, evaluating trade-offs related to scalability, performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Guide backend development using Golang, REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Oversee frontend development using React, TypeScript, and modern web application architectures.
• Stay technically engaged through design reviews, code reviews, debugging, and hands-on contribution when required.
• Take end-to-end ownership of delivery timelines, engineering quality, production reliability, and technical risks.
• Establish engineering best practices across automated testing, CI/CD, observability, security, and production operations.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, platform teams, and Japan-based stakeholders to align technical decisions with business priorities.
• Mentor engineers, delegate effectively, and encourage independent technical ownership and accountability.
• Support hiring, performance management, and career development to build a strong engineering team.
• Drive continuous improvement in developer productivity, engineering workflows, and AI-assisted development practices.
