Job summary

Photon is seeking a senior frontend engineer with strong React and TypeScript skills to design scalable microfrontend architectures. You will drive performance, accessibility, and SEO across large-scale web apps, and develop .NET backend services to support frontend needs.

You will mentor teams, implement CI/CD, and collaborate across product, design, and backend groups to deliver robust, maintainable software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, IS, engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of software engineering experience with 2+ years in fullstack or senior frontend roles.
• Expert in React and modern JS/TS; able to build complex, scalable web apps.
• Strong microfrontend experience (Module Federation, iframes, Web Components).
• SEO best practices including SSR/SSG, Core Web Vitals optimization.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable microfrontend architectures with React.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable microfrontend architectures using React, enabling independent team deployments and feature isolation.
• Lead frontend development efforts with emphasis on performance optimization, accessibility (A11y), and SEO best practices for large-scale web applications.
• Build and maintain responsive, modern UIs using React, TypeScript, and contemporary frontend frameworks; optimize for Core Web Vitals and search engine visibility.
• Develop .NET backend services (ASP.NET Core) to support frontend applications, implementing RESTful APIs and microservices patterns.
• Architect and implement cross-cutting concerns including authentication, authorization, logging, caching, and monitoring across frontend and backend layers.
• Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to translate requirements into technical specifications and implementation plans.
• Enforce coding standards, design patterns, and best practices across frontend and backend development; conduct thorough code reviews.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, building, and deployment of frontend and backend components.
• Mentor and guide developers on frontend technologies, SEO optimization, .NET backend development, and cloud deployment patterns.
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks, technical debt, and architectural gaps; recommend pragmatic solutions with impact analysis.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ years of software engineering experience with at least 2 years in a fullstack or senior frontend engineer role.
• Expert-level proficiency in React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript; proven experience building complex, performant web applications at scale.
• Strong experience implementing microfrontend architectures (Module Federation, iframes, Web Components, or similar patterns).
• Demonstrable knowledge of SEO best practices, including server-side rendering (SSR), static site generation (SSG), structured data, and Core Web Vitals optimization.
• Hands-on experience developing .NET backend services (ASP.NET Core) with APIs, middleware, and integration patterns.
• Strong understanding of web performance optimization, caching strategies, and browser APIs.
• Proficiency with version control, frontend build tools (Webpack, Vite, Next.js, etc.), and testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library, xUnit).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and containerization/deployment technologies.
• Strong communication skills, ability to work across teams, and problem-solving mindset.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Next.js, Remix, or other React meta-frameworks for SSR/SSG capabilities.
• Expertise in state management solutions (Redux, Zustand, Context API, etc.).
• Familiarity with design systems and component library development and maintenance.
• Experience with CSS-in-JS solutions (styled-components, Emotion, etc.) or utility-first CSS frameworks (Tailwind).
• Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design practices.
• Exposure to advanced .NET patterns (CQRS, Event Sourcing, DDD implementation).
• Experience with GraphQL or gRPC for modern API development.
• Cloud certifications (AWS Associate/Professional or Azure Administrator/Developer).
• Agile and Scaled Agile Frameworks (SAFe) experience.
• Exposure to generative AI feature delivery and integration in web applications.

Experience

• 6–10+ years of overall software development experience.
• 2+ years of professional fullstack development with significant emphasis on frontend architecture and React.
• Demonstrated success building and scaling complex web applications with performance and SEO as key considerations.
