Job summary

WSP in India is seeking a Low Voltage Design Engineer to deliver LV design outputs for railway infrastructure projects in Sweden from the GCC (India). The role involves coordinating with Sweden-based teams, following Swedish and European standards, and delivering high-quality designs across concept to IFC stages.

The candidate will design LV systems including lighting, UPS, fire alarm, CCTV, and power distribution, perform load calculations, and ensure on-time delivery within an offshore-onsite

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5–8 years of electrical design experience in rail or transportation projects.
• Familiarity with Swedish and European rail telecom standards.
• Knowledge of LV systems (lighting, UPS, panels, fire alarm, CCTV) and cable routing.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and perform electrical calculations.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; willingness to work offshore-onsite (India–Sweden).
• Experience with Bentley MicroStation; knowledge of Bentley OpenRail and ProjectWise preferred.

• Coordinate with Sweden-based teams and address design comments and clarifications.
• Integrate with signalling, telecom, OLE and civil teams to ensure interface alignment.
• Deliver first-time-right outputs, self-checked designs, following QA/QC processes.
• Support standardisation and efficiency improvements.

• Ensure on‑time, high‑quality delivery in accordance with project timelines.
• Design systems including lighting, emergency lighting, LV distribution, UPS, CCTV, PA/PIDS, access control and fire alarm.
• Perform load calculations, circuit design, cable sizing and equipment selection.
• Follow Swedish standards (Trafikverket, EN/IEC) and Sweden‑specific naming conventions, templates and delivery processes.
• Coordinate with Sweden‑based teams and address design comments, technical clarifications, and participate in design coordination and review meetings.
• Integrate with signalling, telecom, OLE and civil teams to ensure interface alignment and clash‑free design.
• Deliver first‑time‑right outputs, self‑checked and compliant designs, following QA/QC processes and document control.
• Support standardisation and efficiency improvements.

• Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics and perform electrical calculations.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and priority‑management skills.
• Strong delivery and ownership mindset; ability to work in an offshore‑onsite model (India–Sweden).
• Good communication with global teams, detail‑oriented and quality‑focused.
• Working experience with Bentley MicroStation; knowledge of Bentley OpenRail and ProjectWise preferred.
