About the Role

The ‘Engineer II – Robotics System Integration’ role is a hands-on, execution-focused position centered on bringing complete robotic flight systems from laboratory setup to successful field operation. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, the engineer focuses primarily on the practical ‘how’ of system integration, bench testing, ground testing, and field flight execution. The engineer will integrate hardware and software components, operate ground-control tools, execute approved test plans, collect and analyze flight logs, and help technical teams understand real-world system behaviour.

Working closely with and receiving direction from Systems Engineering, Avionics, Robotics Software, Embedded Software, Flight-Control Firmware, and R&D leads, the engineer will execute integration tasks and support cross-disciplinary testing. This role is ideal for junior engineers who want to build, test, and troubleshoot real physical systems while learning from experienced technical mentors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with integrating sensors, payloads, onboard computers, flight controllers, and supporting equipment at the system level
  • Support aircraft-level installation activities alongside Avionics and specialist units following established procedures
  • Configure and operate Mission Planner, QGroundControl, ArduPilot, and PX4 workflows as required
  • Execute bench checks, sensor checks, calibrations, preflight inspections, ground tests, and flight-test support tasks
  • Help prepare test configurations and execute approved test cases under the direct guidance of senior technical leads
  • Collect, organize, and summarize flight-controller, ROS, telemetry, payload, and system logs for review
  • Assist in reproducing field issues, documenting test observations, and providing operational log data to senior engineers
