Job summary

AECOM India Private Limited in Hyderabad seeks a Senior Security Design Engineer to support Security-by-Design and IPA compliance for critical infrastructure projects. The role involves collaborating with architects, engineers and vendors to shape security concepts, review drawings, and implement protective measures in a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation Engineering.
• Familiarity with BIM coordination processes and multidisciplinary model reviews is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Indian codes is mandatory; familiarity with IEC/EN/BS/API etc is an added advantage.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, leadership, stakeholder management, client management, people management, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Support Security-by-Design (SBD) and IPA Compliance Work.
• Support the SME in applying security-by-design principles to architectural, structural, and M&E drawings during early project stages.
• Develop comprehensive physical and electronic security concepts (CCTV, access control, perimeter barriers) for critical infrastructure.
• Oversee the integration of electronic security systems with building management systems.
• Prepare design briefs, technical specifications, layout reviews, and integration plans for systems such as access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and protective barriers.
• Review architectural, structural, and M&E drawings to identify security considerations and integration needs.
• Proficiency in designing protective measures (e.g., blast mitigation, physical barriers, security lighting).
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, operators, and security system vendors.

Job Description

Support Security-by-Design (SBD) and IPA Compliance Work

· Support in preparing SBD reports, documentation, and regulatory submissions.

· Support the subject matter expert (SME) in applying security-by-design principles to architectural, structural, and mechanical/electrical (M&E) drawings during early project stages.

· Support to lead in Develop comprehensive physical and electronic security concepts (CCTV, access control, perimeter barriers) for critical infrastructure

· Oversee the integration of electronic security systems with building management systems

· Preparing design briefs, technical specifications, layout reviews, and integration plans for systems such as access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and protective barriers.

· Review architectural, structural, and M&E drawings to identify security considerations and integration needs.

· Proficiency in designing protective measures (e.g., blast mitigation, physical barriers, security lighting).

Project Coordination & Technical Support

· Coordinate with architects, engineers, operators, and security system vendors.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience with projects similar in function, size and scope to the description above.
• Experience in datacentre, power, industrial sectors are highly desirable.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation Engineering.
• Familiarity with BIM coordination processes and multidisciplinary model
• reviews is an advantage.

Additional Information

• Knowledge of Indian codes is mandatory. Familiarity with IEC/EN/BS/API etc is added advantage.
• Working knowledge of current industry software, including Navisworks, Revit, ACAD.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, leadership, stakeholder
• management, client management, people management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
