Job summary

AECOM is seeking an electrical engineer in Hyderabad to lead design for buildings and infrastructure projects. You will develop LV/MV power distribution, lighting, grounding and protection, and perform load calculations and equipment selection.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years of experience in electrical design for buildings, infrastructure, or data centers, with a hybrid work model and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

• 5+ years of experience in electrical design for buildings, infrastructure, industrial, healthcare, or data center projects.
• Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles and design standards.
• Experience in preparing detailed design and construction drawings.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare electrical designs, calculations, drawings, and specifications for building and infrastructure projects.
• Design LV/MV power distribution systems, lighting systems, grounding/earthing systems, and lightning protection systems.
• Perform load calculations, cable sizing, voltage drop calculations, short-circuit studies, and equipment selection.
• Participate in design reviews, value engineering, and technical discussions with stakeholders.
• Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
• Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team
• Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by others.
• Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
• Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
• Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.
• Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
• Prepares technical specification sections.
• Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
