Job summary

AECOM India Private Limited in Mumbai invites an experienced Structural Engineer to support design, planning and completion of diverse engineering projects. You will coordinate with seniors, plan task approaches and perform robust analysis and design of structural systems for buildings, overseeing junior staff and ensuring QA/QC per company standards.

The role requires 6–9 years' experience, a structural engineering degree (Master’s preferred), and proficiency in RCC and steel, Indian codes, and

Qualifications

• 6–9 years of experience on projects similar in function, size and scope.
• Undergraduate degree in structural engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Strong technical skills with RCC and preferably structural steel.
• Knowledge of Indian codes mandatory; familiarity with US/BS/Eurocodes is a plus.
• Proficiency with industry software including SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, STAAD, Revit, AutoCAD; MS Office.
• Willingness for programming/macros & Excel design sheets; Rhino/Grasshopper/Python a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; time and people management skills.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Support the team for design, coordination, planning and completion of engineering projects.
• Communicate with seniors to understand project requirements.
• Plan and formulate approach to tasks according to project requirements.
• Perform analysis and design of structural systems for all types of buildings and materials using various building codes.
• Manage project design and deliverables as well as other junior team members. Supervise the work of juniors engineers and modelers, and direct project staff in preparing contract documents such as drawings and specifications.
• Checking of work being done and modifying workplans in order to ensure QA/QC is always maintained as per AECOM Standards
• Monitor and control the time spent for the different tasks in the project to avoid time overrun.
• Explore ways to automate repetitive work and support computational design efforts in the office.
• Assist seniors with project delivery as required

Experience & Qualifications

• Candidate having 6-9 years of experience on projects similar in function, size and scope to the description above.
• Undergraduate degree (Master’s preferred) in structural engineering or related field.
• Strong technical skills with proficiency in RCC and preferably structural steel as well.
• Knowledge of Indian codes is mandatory. Familiarity with US, BS, Eurocodes is a plus
• Working knowledge of current industry software, including SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, STAAD, Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
• Willingness for programming, macros & Excel design sheets is desirable, though not mandatory
• Interest in working with Rhino, Grasshopper, Python coding will be a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Time management and people management skills will be valuable.
