Job summary

Vertiv in Ambernath Factory is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and develop sheet metal enclosures for UPS power applications. You will create 3D models and manufacturing drawings, partner with electrical, manufacturing and other teams, and ensure NPDI gate processes are followed from prototyping to release.

The role requires a BE in Mechanical Engineering and 7–8 years of relevant experience in sheet metal enclosure design, with strong CAD skills (CREO) and attention to detail to deliver

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 7–8 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in sheet metal enclosure design for indoor applications.

Responsibilities

• Design complete sheet metal enclosure (3D design and 2D drawings).
• Visit supplier and manufacturing plant for prototype development.
• Handle design activities from product request to prototype development.
• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of drawings and documents.
• Perform detailed structural analysis and validation of designs for safety and durability.
• Suggest alternative mechanical designs to reduce costs without compromising quality.
• Evaluate alternative materials to enhance performance and reduce costs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Electrical, Manufacturing) to optimize product designs.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards and regulations.
• Prepare detailed reports and documentation for projects.

Key Requirements

• Good knowledge of sheet metal design and sheet metal working processes
• Knowledge of 3D design and 2D drafting using CREO or any other CAD software
• Ability to work with speed and accuracy to deliver manufacturing drawings and other documents
• Experience in design of sheet metal enclosures for indoor applications
• Knowledge of enclosure design considering dust and water Ingress Protection
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 7-8 years of relevant work experience

Desirable

• Hands on Experience on sheet metal prototype development
• Knowledge of busbar design considerations
• Ability to work independently with least supervision
