Job summary

Vertiv Co is seeking an EMS Maintenance Engineer to manage onsite maintenance of energy management and monitoring systems. You will handle PLC/SCADA, metering, server and network components, perform diagnostics, and draft reports after site visits.

The role emphasizes remote support, upgrading plans, and system modifications, with strong customer communication and documentation skills required. Training will be provided as needed.

Qualifications

• 3rd level qualification in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or computer-related discipline.
• Experience in Engineering/Manufacturing environment preferred.
• Familiarity with energy management and automation systems.
• Ability to read Electrical One Line Schematics.
• Strong fault-diagnostics and troubleshooting skills.
• Good organization and multi-tasking ability.
• Full driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Onsite maintenance of Energy Management/Monitoring Systems including PLC, SCADA, metering, servers, and networks.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and remediate onsite issues.
• Draft service reports after maintenance visits.
• Provide remote support and attend priority sites during critical failures.
• Develop upgrade plans and implement system modifications.
• Communicate effectively with customers; report writing skills required.
• Periodic training in industry segments will be provided.

Brief Job Description:

EMS Maintenance Engineer:

Reporting to the relevant Production Managers these positions involve general manufacturing and operative responsibilities pertaining to Electrical Switchgear assembly and/or associated product lines.

Responsibilities and Measurement Criteria with Time investment Needed on Each:

(This will describe the overall core responsibilities of the role, decision making responsibilities etc.)

• Onsite maintenance of Energy Management / Monitoring Systems to include but not limited to: PLC Systems
  • SCADA Systems
  • Metering Systems
  • Server based systems
  • Network / Comms Hardware
• Diagnostics, troubleshooting, and remediation of onsite issues.
• Drafting of service reports following maintenance visits.
• Remote support / corrective attendance on short notice to priority sites during critical system failures / doomsday scenarios.
• Development of upgrade plans to suit client needs.
• System modifications / upgrades.
• This role also has a customer facing element to it, so good communications and literacy/report writing skills are a must.
• Adequate training, both theoretical and practical, will be provided on a periodic basis in each appropriate segment of the industry

• 3rd level qualification in Electrical or Electronic Engineering/Computer related discipline

Additional / Preferred Qualifications:

• Relevant experience in an Engineering / Manufacturing environment
• Familiarity with Energy Management / Automation Systems
• Knowledge and understanding in reading Electrical One Line Schematics
• Strong, demonstrable troubleshooting/fault-diagnostics skills
• Be efficiently organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks
• Experience with Schneider PME/PSO, Ignition and GridVis software or other similar Energy Management software platforms
• SQL Database Experience
• Full Driver’s License
