Job summary

WSP India is seeking an Engineer – Hydrology to join our team and contribute to growing hydrology projects. You will work under supervision of Associate or Principal Engineer to carry out hydrology and hydraulic modelling tasks using tools like InfoWorks ICM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SewerGEMS, and QGIS, and support report preparation.

The role involves collaborating with CAD, Road, landscape, Geotech and environment teams, assisting in drawings, project packages, and client meetings.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of stormwater systems, hydrological processes, and drainage design.
  • Familiarity with local and international stormwater design standards.
  • Awareness about GCC standards and manuals.
  • Computer literate, with experience of appropriate modelling software or equivalent Excel spreadsheet calculations.
  • Good English communication skills are essential.
  • Previous project experience in GCC countries, coordinating with local government agencies for design approvals (NOCs), preferred.

  • Assist in hydrological and hydraulic modelling tasks using industry tools.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of stormwater management reports, ensuring accuracy and standards.
  • Collaborate with CAD, Road, landscape, Geotech, environment teams for seamless project integration.
  • Coordinate with CAD to develop and review stormwater drawings and align with modelling outputs.
  • Contribute to project packages alongside Principals and Associates, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Stay updated with technical developments and ensure health & safety in all work practices.

Job description

This role is to work as part of a team to support the delivery of projects. This role will be working under the supervision of Associate or principal engineer to carry out the following functions.

Responsibilities
  • This role is for a Engineer – Hydrology to contribute to growing hydrology.
  • Support hydrological and hydraulic modelling tasks using tools such asInfo works ICM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SewerGEMS, and QGIS, flow master, culvert design software.
  • Assist in thepreparation and review of stormwater management reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards.
  • Collaborate closely withinternal teams and cross-disciplinary groupsincluding CAD, Road, landscape, Geotech, environment etc teams to ensure seamless project integration.
  • Coordinate withCAD teamsto develop and review stormwater drawings and ensure alignment with modelling outputs.
  • Contribute to thedelivery of project packagesalongside Principals and Associates, ensuring timely and quality outcomes.
  • Basic knowledge of Civil 3D and BIMto support design integration and visualization.
  • Participate in client meetings, technical discussions, and project planning sessions as required.
  • Stay updated with relevant technical developments within the discipline. Ensure weekly submission of timesheets. Ensure that Health & Safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policies.
  • Support the companies approach to sustainability.
  • Identify improvements (where possible) to enhance WSP ME service to clients.
Mandatory skills
  • Strong understanding of stormwater systems, hydrological processes, and drainage design
  • Familiarity with local and international stormwater design standards.
  • Awareness about GCC standards and manuals.

  • Middle East or UK as projects dictate.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil engineering, Water Resources, or a related field.
