Job summary

Flex is seeking an Environmental Engineer to be based in Chennai, reporting to the Manager. The role focuses on environmental compliance across components and regulators, coordinating with customers and suppliers in multiple countries.

You will collect and analyze data, support audits, and provide training on regulations like RoHS, REACh, PFAS, and Prop 65. Strong communication and project-management skills are essential to succeed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of electrical and electronic components; strong written and oral communication is mandatory.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations such as RoHS, REACh, PFAS, Prop 65.
• Ability to contact multiple suppliers, train them on regulation, and review supplier documents.
• Should be able to handle multiple customer requirements and manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with multiple teams on Environmental Compliance activities.
• Collect, analyze and archive component information related to Environmental Compliance.
• Work with customers or suppliers in different countries on regulatory requirements like RoHS, REACH, PFAS.
• Provide training to suppliers on Environmental Compliance requirements.
• Assist in internal and third party audits and regulatory changes in CMAP.

The Engineer, Environmental will be based in Chennai location and reporting to Manager.

What a Typical Day Looks Like

• Excellent communication skills. (Oral & written)
• Ability to work with Customers/Suppliers in different countries.
• Coordinating with Multiple teams on Environmental Compliance activities.
• Responsible for Collection, analysis & archival of the component information related to Environmental Compliance through Compliance Map tool
• Working with Multiple customers or supplier for different Environmental Regulatory requirements like RoHS, Reach, Prop 65, PFAS, etc
• Provide Training to suppliers on the Environmental Compliance requirements wherever required.
• Support organization in regulatory compliance/ internal/third party audits.
• Handling the regulation changes in CMAP & forecast the risk of the affected parts for the Product Environment Compliance team to alert the site.
• Supporting in SOP/SOW or process documents and have it updated on required frequency.
• Provide Technical Training to Team members or new joiners.
• Able to review customer specific requirements and support.
• Support in UAT, Process documentations Software testing.
• Support External and internal Audit.
• Expected to work with Team with effective time management.
• Supporting team members in day-to-day activities wherever required.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team
