Job Responsibilities
- Review the requirements and determine both positive and negative test scenarios/headers to verify explicit as well as implicit product specifications.
- Develop and execute test procedures and test cases based on identified test scenarios/headers.
- Write and run test scripts to achieve planned test automation objectives.
- Perform white‑box testing when necessary.
- Analyze and debug problems or issues encountered during the project.
- Assist senior testers in test optimization efforts to define optimal test scope.
- Participate in advanced development of test automation solutions.
- Record and share technical knowledge and experience gained.
- Follow the organization’s software testing processes and procedures.
- Support seniors and leaders to ensure project milestone deadlines are met.
- Collaborate with the development leader on estimation and risk identification for assigned work.
- Work with global engineering teams to ensure successful project completion.
Qualifications
- Strong fundamentals in software testing.
- Good understanding of 8/16/32‑bit microcontrollers.
- Experience with analog and digital electronic schematics, circuit boards, and component datasheets.
- Domain knowledge of residential HVAC systems.
- Sound analytical and debugging skills.
- Excellent understanding of wired protocols such as UART, I2C, and SPI.
- Familiarity with wireless protocols including Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, ZigBee, and TCP/IP.
- Experience with tools such as Bugzilla, TestLink, ReviewBoard, etc.
- Basic understanding of programming in C and C++.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to think laterally.
- Experience with sniffing tools preferred.
- ISTQB Foundation certification preferred.
- Knowledge or experience of LabVIEW a plus.
Required Experience
1 to 3 years of experience in embedded software testing.
Education
B.E./M.Sc./M.E./M.Tech in Electronics, Electronics and Telecommunications, or Instrumentation.
