Key Responsibilities:
- Customer & Proposal Engineering Support: Collaborate with the sales team to review customer RFQs and technical specifications, and develop accurate, technically compliant quotations for transformer inquiries while minimizing cost and execution risks.
- Design Documentation: Prepare and review electrical design, design calculations, drawings, and technical reports in line with customer requirements and applicable standards.
- Simulation & Engineering Analysis: Utilize specialized software tools (e.g., Maxwell, Andersen, MATLAB) for transformer modelling and simulation to enhance performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Customer Engagement: Participate in customer meetings, design reviews, and technical discussions to provide timely engineering clarifications and build confidence in proposed solutions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with mechanical design, manufacturing, procurement, and quality teams to ensure designs are practical, manufacturable, and cost-effective. testing, and production ramp-up, including conducting root cause analysis and driving design improvements for manufacturing or field issues.
- Technology & Industry Awareness: Stay updated on advancements in transformer design, materials, and emerging technologies to continuously improve engineering outcomes.
- Process & Standards Development: Support the development and implementation of internal engineering standards, best practices, and design processes.
- Strong understanding of transformer electrical design principles
- Proficiency in engineering and simulation tools such as Ansys (Maxwell and others), Andersen, Matlab & etc
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar engineering drafting tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with engineering teams, manufacturing, and customers.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional engineering environment.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 10–15 years of experience in transformer electrical design
- Strong understanding of power and distribution transformer design principles.
- Strong understanding of international transformer standards (IEEE, ANSI, IEC).
- Experience supporting design, proposal engineering, and manufacturing processes for US market
Preferred
- Exposure to manufacturing and testing of transformers.
- Experience with advanced electromagnetic simulation tools.
Based in India, with collaboration across global engineering teams and occasional interaction with customers and manufacturing sites as required.
