Eaton Corporation in Pune, India is seeking a Should Cost Engineer to develop part and product cost estimates within a specialized supply chain team. You will build costing models, run software- based estimates, and validate results with SMEs to support value engineering and cost-out initiatives.

You will collaborate with engineering, sourcing, and manufacturing stakeholders to ensure alignment with commodity strategies and KPIs, including cost-out, productivity gains, and on-time deliveries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in engineering with 6–10 years of experience in Should Costing OR Masters with 4–6 years of experience
• Experience in Total Cost of Ownership analysis
• Strong knowledge of DFMA, PPAP and GD&T
• Expert user of should costing tools (Costimator, aPriori, Facton, PriceSystems)
• CAD tools proficiency (AutoCAD, ProE, SolidWorks)

Eaton announced, on June 11, 2026, the intent to combine its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) with a new company. We expect to complete this process by the end of the first half of 2027. The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton's plans, programs and practices. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the transaction closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.

The should cost engineer will be responsible for the development of part and product cost estimates working within a specialized team within the Supply Chain Management shared services center. The work will be process based, will deploy analytical models, and will involve close collaboration with business stake holders and subject matter experts.

• 1. Build part and product costing models using internal and external sources of information
• 2. Run relevant software models to generate cost estimates
• 3. Validate cost estimates based on experience and working with subject matter experts
• 4. Should have worked in analysing Total Cost of Ownership of products.
• 5. Reporting and Analytics – Should have good experience on data analysis, report preparation and presentation to senior leadership.

This role would be for Mobility business. Eaton have recently announced to entered into a definitive agreement to combine our Mobility Group with Dana Incorporated - creating a scaled and differentiated engineered solutions partner well-positioned to serve commercial and light vehicle OEMs worldwide, as well as the associated aftermarket channels.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s in engineering with 6-10 years of experience in Should Costing OR Masters with 4-6 years of experience

Skills:

• \" Must have strong knowledge of one or two of commodities like Machining, Forging, Sheet Metal, Mechanical Assemblies.
• Should be SME for one or more commodities
• Proficient in Design for Manufacturing Analysis (DFM), procurement processes, PPAP and GD&T, different types of raw materials & commodities
• Knowledge of statistical tools like Regression analysis etc. for target costing
• Should be an expert user of one of the should costing tool (Costimator, aPriori, Facton, PriceSystems)
• Hands on experience of using CAD tools (AutoCAD, ProE, SolidWorks)
• Strengthening relationship with commodity managers and stakeholders
• Build organizational capabilities by Training, Coaching to budding talents with Should cost
• Have close coordination with technology, manufacturing, sourcing, product management, and suppliers
• Establish & maintain a strong knowledge management database that can be leveraged for Sourcing decisions
• Ensure projects meet their financial & operational goals (KPIs) viz cost out, cost avoidance, productivity gain and on time & accurate deliveries.
• Communicates with the Supply Chain teams globally regarding opportunities in alignment with commodity/category strategies
• Partner with Engineering for should-cost analysis on NPI & VAVE Projects
• Should have hands‑on experience in creating a robust knowledge management database for should cost
• Should be strong in Data analytics skill to get meaningful decisions made out of numbers
• Manage at a project level, initiatives requiring multiple cost inputs
