Job summary

alfanar is seeking a cost control professional in Chennai to establish and monitor project budgets, ensure cost control practices, and coordinate with finance for accurate estimates. This role focuses on maintaining robust cost governance across the project lifecycle.

You will develop and monitor detailed cash flows, generate forecasting reports, and implement cost-saving strategies to enhance profitability while ensuring compliance with company policies and tender budgets.

Responsibilities

• Enforce cost control policies and guidelines for the project lifecycle.
• Create and maintain detailed project cash flows and forecasting reports based on trend analysis.
• Create project cost structures/budgets (tender budget) in SAP to ensure cost control procedures.
• Reconcile and analyze project budget revisions with Finance, providing verification of estimates (Actual Cost, Plan POC, Actual POC).
• Analyze requirements and prepare detailed estimates to complete (ETC).
• Monitor and track project costs to ensure adherence to the budget.
• Identify and report potential cost overruns in a timely manner using forecasting tools for future expenditures.
• Develop and implement cost saving strategies to maximize project profitability.
• Analyze project cost reports and establish reporting frequency for stakeholders (daily/weekly/monthly).
• Coordinate with other departments for accuracy and development of dashboard reports.
• Analyze project costs and establish reporting cadence based on deliverable criticality.
